I'm not saying it's authentic, but it's not absolutely fake either. After all, Gates *was* out at the store the night of the launch to sell the first system. Wouldn't be impossible for someone to ask him to sign a faceplate. Signature is close enough to be real.

Problem is there is just no way to really prove it one way or another unless you actually saw him sign it. You can't simply discount it because it's different from the launch signature. My own signature can vary significantly depending on how busy I am. I know if my signature was going to be on a system I’d write my name out a bunch of times and pick the best one. That's different from writing out a bunch of autographs quickly at a launch event. Not to mention what he was writing on.

  9. ...It saves you having to burn disc's and it allows 100% 'Proper' disc file 'positioning'.

...In other words it 'emulates' a DVD drive and a pressed disc.

would be something like a Hardware Virtual Drive? (like Daemon Tools or Alcohol?)

  11. Hmmm, it's a lot more than that, Alcohol and the such like merely emulate a drive in which an image can be run from.

The Raptor allow's you to position data exactly where it should be, as if it were going to be on a pressed DVD-9 D/L disc.

...In other words it lets you choose the layer you wish to place the data on, and the position that its read from, thus data reading can be optimised in real-time for testing purposes, thus aiding final submission.

...You can also choose which make of DVD drive that you would like to emulate, be that fast of slow.
