that gold is not so expensive you just need very few for that since its really thin question is what happens if you switch it on will it melt ? :-D

  6. Thats right, I think a book of Gold Leaf was about £30 a few years back when I last bought some.

...Such a waste covering an Xbox in it, even if it was only a £1 a book!

Way TOO much money for a limited edition run of 5000 units - even for nr. 0001/5000.

I hope that's not all what future "limited edition" consoles will offer. Just a faceplate isn't worth much collecting in my opinion.

Eh, no limited edition is really anything special. Hell, most of the more expensive limited edition consoles are nothing more than differently coloured plastic anyway and limited runs of 5,000 certainly do bring in the cashola. Don't see how this is any different. Sides a faceplate is much easier to store.

madhatter, can you elaborate on that "clunky model" statement. whats in the picture is imho a standard dtl-t 10000, which is the common ps2 development environment, only superceeded by a dtl-t 15000, which is the same box with a performance analyzer included.

    or am i missing something?

  18. ...Nah you 'aint missing anything, they are all much of a muchness.
