You are right but to expensive in my book. I would bet you will see more of these show up as the new ps3 hits market. Also what ever happened to the ones from acclaim or interplay they have to be floating about.

Well, it looks like he put a couple of things up on eBay (NR Reader and a PS2 Test). I just wish that I had a way to use the NR Reader for development. :-(

15k for a grey market ps2 devkit? this is insane. you could buy one from sony for that money if they accept you into the developer program.

    Keep dreaming...

Anyway, $15k is too expensive. Also, all of that is first generation dev hardware. The current generations you get are much more reliable. You're just better off buying it legit if you want to spend that amount. As for the availability increasing when PS3 comes out. I'm pretty sure that will happen but not as much as you might expect. However, expect to see much more TEST units than TOOL units on ebay in the next few years. So just save your money until then :).

ps2 dev hw... obviously there is a lot of missunderstanding with the dtl-t numbers. just do an internet search, and you will find the following:

dtl-t10000: this is the final ps2 devkit everybody was and is using.
dtl-t14000: this is a dvd emulation card that it fitted into a dtl-t10000 system to provide dvd emulation. it is a snsys product. (http://www.snsys.com/PlayStation2/dvdemu.htm)
dtl-t15000: this is an enhanced version of the devkit which has the same features (and case) of the dtl-t10000 plus a performance analyzer, which lets you see what the different hardware parts are spending their time with. (http://www.scee.sony.co.uk/sceesite/files/presentations/PSP/HowFarHaveWeGot.pdf)

just to make things clear. the numbers are not "versions" or something. ;)
