I apologized to KRIKzz and I admitted that I was in the wrong; however, that doesn't mean I should absolve myself of discussion concerning this topic. If you're going to go on about one of my rants, would you mind letting me know which one? I have a ton of flaws, and I've been an ass in the past, so there's quite a few rants of mine floating around.

Did you just register to this site to insult me? If you're going to post in this topic, then you should at least bring something relevant to the topic to the table instead of just flaming others.

Anyways, at this point in time, the two products are just about on par in terms of features and compatibility.. I'm glad that a patch for BT has been released so people won't have to use a 6105 CIC in the ED64 v2, so they'll have 100% compatibility.

Anyways, does the ED64 v2 have controller pak management yet? The 64drive has something of the sort now-a-days, just throwing that out there just incase it's of any relevance to anyone.

Note: If anyone has a problem with me, especially over anything said on a completely different site, then yell at me via a private message and keep the garbage out of the topics around here. Turbo, two wrongs do not make a right; I just hope you decide to show some decency and become a contributing member here. It'd be really sad if you just registered to insult me, when it would have been "proper" to PM me over at gbatemp or whatever site you came from. It does make me feel good that some random person thought I was worth their time to insult, glad to know that I'm worth the trouble :D

    Sincerely, C-K

I didn't register just for that purpose but this was the first time I felt compelled to post. Making fun of a whole country because you don't like a product that one citizen of the country makes is pretty crazy. The rant I am referring to is the one that KRIKzz posted and I didn't come from any site BTW. I hope you are truly sorry for what you said. It's not really my place to be offended by it but your words did take me back a little.

I'm a bit lost as to why you seem to believe I made fun of the country just because of one product that one citizen of the country made... While it was wrong of me to refer to his country as crappy, that opinion had nothing to do with KRIKzz or the ED64 in anyway. My old opinion of his home country was formed long before I knew KRIKzz even existed, so I was biased against products manufactured in that country because I wrongly believed that they were pretty much on par with China's production quality.

Anyways, I'm not going to keep going off topic in this thread about this particular subject, if you wish to discuss it even further, please PM me and we'll continue it there. Please note that it was an old opinion, one that I no longer hold; I'll admit to my ignorance at that time, and I've since then grown to respect the country.

Yeah, but has KRIKzz integrated it into the menu, or is it just homebrew that you have to launch?

1)Allows to load/save controller pak to file. Please use any .mpk file and c-down button. It works only if controller pak plugged into joy port1. /ED64/dummy.mpk file can be used for exchange
2)Ability to force default save type
3)Ability to force M-PAL TV mode. Not sure if it work properly, cuz i don't have PAL-M system for tests
4)Os can run Banjo-Tooie U without manual patching

    YEAH!!!! Nice progress man!!!!
Regarding 4, if you implemented the new 6105 decoding routine does it mean that all 6105 games now work without any patch? (no [f1] nonsense etc...)

I just used LaC's patch, nothing more. OS performs auto patching if detects BT US rom loading

    Everdrive 64 v2 OSv1.29 FTW

Now there is no doubt (At least for me) which one is the best: Everdrive 64 FTW !!

Krikkz please add the mp3 play function, i find it very cool because after the long smash brothers battles we can take a breath or make some drinks with good music ! XD

Btw: Will jet force gemini run without manual patching someday ?

Sure! Get the game cart or put a 6105 CIC in your ED64.

Perhaps KRIKzz will be kind enough to include the auto-patch for it in the next OS release.

Until then it has to be manually patched...

I am also wondering if JFG could be auto-patched.

To be fair, it's not a problem patching the few games that need it, and of course once they are patched they are patched for good (it's not like you have to patch them every time you want to play the game, you just patch one file and use that file every time you want to play that game). And the patched game is just the same as the unpatched game (well, except that Banjo Tooie has a scrolling message that shows each time you boot the ROM, but you can quickly skip past that), it's not like the patch removes the music from the game, or does anything else detrimental to the game.

Gameshark support is the improvement I'm hoping for! It's a shame that we can't use the Everdrive 64 with Gameshark type devices (it's not the Everdrive's fault, the Gameshark gets confused and thinks you're trying to update it, apparently), so hopefully Gameshark support will be added, as there are some fantastic codes available for many great games.

^ Let's hope so. I do know that the EDMD Game Genie support works by putting the cheats in a prompt and then patching the flashed in ROM in the memory so the codes remain on the game until a new game gets written in. Maybe something like that could be added since the Banjo Tooie patch for OS 1.29 most likely works the same way. Same for JFG.

    Just a thought...
