Too bad Toshiba never went around to making their 3DO car navigator thing because the 3DO technology failed against other consoles of the time!
Well, the 3DO suffered from a high price tag and heavy competition. Not helping that there were very few good games on the 3DO.
yea,a high pricetag that was lowered in 3-6 months, and there were plenty of good games, just not very many exclusive games
The high price tag lasted until the machines death in most countries. Basically the 3DO lacked quality software. It had some great titles but not enough.
To be exact : we have two versions of alive 2. It's absolutely same consoles , but with different names 1) my console ( LG) 2) from Russian seller ( Goldstar)
Gold Star are LG. In fact Gold Star were a really crappy brand that merged with another crappy Korean brand to form LG. Now they produce some of the world's leading tech. Funny really.
Technically shouldn't the Konami M2 arcade hardware be on this list too since it is based off of the M2. It ran games such as PolyStars, Battle Tryst, Total Vice, Heat of Eleven '98 and Evil Night/Hell Night http://system16.com/hardware.php?id=575
Hi all. Today I got ahold of an old copy of Game Champ (Korean magazine) from September of 1996. I found this huge 3 page fold out 3DO ad and thought you guys would be interested: As you can see, they continued to market both models concurrently and the original model 1 continued to be more expensive (though they upsold the fact that it could handle VCDs with the right add-on).
