It is fairly difficult. What difficulty are you playing on? It's actually not bad at all. Facial expressions in dialogue sequences are pretty decent. In gameplay your enemies are a bit stiff. Am I the only one who found all this to be cool? I would have loved to be a part of the festivities. I want that mask. Same here. I'm about 7 hours in and my complaints are small compared to how much fun I've had, Solid video. I might have to watch more of these. I especially liked the guy leftmost.
I'm playing on normal, but started with max luck and int (which I did in both 3 and new vegas). It's gotten a bit easier now at the level 16/17 mark. But early game was quite hard
int - get more exp, considering no cap get int early and get more exp faster (in 3 and vegas, I think you got an extra perk every few levels too for having higher int) luck - idiot savant (more exp again, x3 or x5 randomly) and luck played quite a big part in 3 and new vegas (like you could jackpot all the machines in the casinos for easy money etc). I then maxed out charisma with all my points after that, as it helps get caps (ask people to pay more money in quests) and you can get people to do stuff for you etc. I am now adding in some endurance and strength as I can spare the points, but I have been investing in lockpicking and hacking too, for similar reasons as above.
So I've noticed this has been quite the polarizing game. A lot of players are feeling really alienated by the watering-down of the RPG elements and the focus on tighter gunplay. Also the streamlined dialogue options have been a point of contention. Anybody have any opinions with regards to this?
So they pulled a Mass Effect on it? Strip out everything except the shooter side of things? I was looking forward to getting it when it goes GotY and includes expansions, but maybe I'll wait longer...
I've never played ME, but people are comparing the dialogue to it. I honestly don't see much of the problem, except you get around 2-3 less responses now. I can understand both the positive and negative aspects of it. I personally like the fact they actually made gunplay enjoyable. That's how the majority of my time is spent, so why not work on making that more solid? Also crafting gives more meaning to scavenging, which is a huge part of the game as well. For the most part, things that got removed and/or changed have justifiable reasons. I'm around 8 hours in and I've really enjoyed my time so far.
How do you feel about the changes made? No karma system, skill points changed to perks, simplified dialogue options, etc.? Also a lot of hate is leveraged at the story, but I feel like that's partially people just pissed about have to follow a pre-determined story and not kill everybody around. It seems as if Bethesda looked at the "your stories are boring" criticism and decided to make the main quest far more important.
I really enjoy the first hour, but the game has no crossfire support, so i have to wait for amd to play it in 4k. Is SLI working?
I've played only 5 hours so far, and I believe 3 and a half were spent scavenging and building a settlement, so addictive! I'm planning on playing a good amount next weekend.
It's honestly one of the most consistently entertaining games I've played in a while. I've put in around 13-14 hours and I haven't been bored once. There's no point where I've been interested in stopping and I've always looked forward to whatever was next. Also hard is definitely giving me a run for my money. I've reloaded so many times, but I don't think I've used the power armor in any fight beyond the first one. I should probably start utilizing that more. I put myself in positions where things will inevitably be rough.
So I've been enjoying the hell out of this game, though I feel the story is a bit... short I guess. Otherwise, I've been impressed (and have been streaming my many, many, many deaths thanks to the difficulty increase from the previous two).
Try it on hard. I hit a non-armored raider straight with a rocket and it only took down half health. It makes for a lot of rough situations.
