I get the impression most rarer famicom games remain in japan. Compared to super famicom, japanese sellers don't appear to be as widely offering them for overseas buyers.
Beware, these will be incredibly crummy carts. In terms of build quality and content. I know from experience so set your expectation low! (^_^);
I placed my order with volumerates.com 11 days ago. they are just now sending me an e-mail saying it is shipped.
Par for the course if volumerates is dealextreme. DX dont stock all the items, they order them in based on orders they have had - hence the delay.
I've bought a similar 4in1 cart a few days ago. The cartridge connector is a bit shorter than on original Famicom carts. Unfortunately the cart does not work properly on my AV Famicom. The image displayed on the TV screen was heavily distorted and therefore the games unplayable. I've tested the cart on a Tristar64 as well. It worked, but the sound is a bit noisy imo.
So i got the 4 i ordered in the mail today. I couldnt get any of them to work. I have 2 NES consoles both with brand new 72 pin connectors (Installed last week) and one of them has the lockout disabled. I couldn't get any of these to work. forward. backward. nothing. oh well. only out $10. i guess. actually. no. I bought a $30 pair of shoes from them too (at the same time) they sent me a different size.
Well nothing's turned up here yet, I ordered a console and 4 carts, will report back with findings if or when they turn up. @Bomberhead - can't you make a claim through PayPal and get your money back that way for the non-working carts?
@Bomberhead - did you try different adapters? I have some clone carts that don't work at all with one adapter and do work with the other. Maybe that could be the case?
From what I've read these games work fine on famiclones but are glitched when played on real hardware.
Yeah. But I think i'll just eat it. I dont want to have to deal with paypal any more. I always get screwed. I like this idea. The only converter i have though works with all my Famicom and Famiclone carts. But when i come across another converter i will pick one up. I'm still waiting to come across a Gyromite with a converter in it some day.
So after i read this. i went back and cleaned my adapter. Still nothing. so i tried some famicom games that i know for a fact actually work. nothing. How could my adapter have gone bad? so i jumped online to buy another one. Jezz, when did they become expensive. i was thinking i would end up spending like $10.
Is the adaptor a Nintendo brand like the one in some Gyromite NES carts? It has to have the 10NES Chip or a mod to the NES is needed. I wrote a NES Mod Guide, gets rid of flashing light issues too. NES LOCKOUT CHIP DISABLE IMPORT MOD GUIDE
