Lockout isnt the issue. I have 3 NES's one with lockout disabled. The converter is a generic T89 or something to that effect. I'll just pick up another one when i see one.
That isn't the issue. Famicom systems do not have lockout. The adapter I was talking about, is for playing NES games on a Famicom. Castlevania 3 has a known game-breaking freeze on the particular adapter I bought.
Well I've been waiting almost three weeks and still i haven't got the confirmation email. Should have bought official cartridges instead :dammit: EDIT: lol few hours ago I got this email: "Dear Aleksi, Thanks for ordering the product on our website. Your order has been dispatched. If any problems, please feel free to contact us. "" :yatta:
Still waiting for my Famiclone to arrive. However, when I checked the website after I got email notification on the same day as Bomberhead 2 weeks ago I decided to order the 'Snow Bros., Tekken and Adventure Island 4' 3-in-1 cart. That turned up yesterday... Not impressed.
It's a Chinese based company, what do you expect. They always f*@k up. I ordered Windows 7 from yahoo Auctions. After winning I was told the parcel would ship from China. SHIT, I thought. Bloody bootleg. 3 weeks later my parcel arrived. It was original but should have been the Japanese version however they sent me the English version. A good result for me but if I was Japanese like the auction was made for and promised a Japanese version, I'd be mighty pissed off. Yakumo
薄利多销! Of course these companies suck. They work on the principle of: sell a lot and sell it cheap. They won't spend anything extra that would eat into their bottom line. It's not surprising to wait several months for things to arrive. To contrast general performance, I get stuff sent from China to Canada and it takes about 3-4 days via DHL. Much faster if the person sending to you takes the time to pick something that doesn't come by boat.
Yes, but you pay for DHL shipping. If you paid $30 for shipping on your $2 item on DX, im sure it would get to you in days too. I order loads of stuff from china too, but for free shipping on items that cost next to nothing - what do you expect.
Got the games today. One cart was missing because they were out of stock and it should arrive someday. The 115 in 1 cart was very glitchy and it kept reseting the games and it only had like less than 10 games on it. Rockman 3 and Contra carts were working fine. I'm using famiclone called $B$((B$B$U(B$B$7(B$B!<(B$B$3(B$B$s(B$B$Q(B$B$"(B$B$A(B$B$V(B$B$k(B or FC Compatible. http://wave.ap.teacup.com/pachi/timg/middle_1242276745.jpg I mean this one
What's the word that isn't showing up properly for me? "$B$((B$B$U(B$B$7(B$B!<(B$B$3(B$B$s(B$B$Q(B$B$"(B$B $A(B$B$V(B$B$k(B" is sure one bizarre name for anything haha.
i tried to write えふしーこんぱぁちぶる but there were some problems with font. No idea why. seems to work fine now.
I'm not surprised the multi-cart is crummy. These cartridges in general are the cheapest kind you can get in China. As ASSEMbler correctly pointed out, these will usually contain old kilobit games. If you want multi-carts that have more advanced games, you'll ether take a hit on game count (4-in-1, 6-in-1, etc), or you'll need to spend on getting a higher-quality mult-cart. Usually the better quality carts come in diffrent colors with a box. Like Blue, Red, etc. Those bright yellow carts are the real crummy ones which are massed produced on a huge scale for street dumping. Those 245-in-1 cards I sell are pretty new because they contain many later titles, as well as an almost complete collection of the old kilobit games. It's also one of the few carts I've found that has little, if no repeats. Sure it costs a bit more more, but if you were to try and purchase all those titles via DX Yellow cards, it would be waaaay more expensive.
They all work ok on my NES. While that 245 in 1 seem very nice, you need to take into account it does not work at all in real famicom and nintendo system. Those yellow pirate cart found on volume rate definitly are the cheapest cart I ever touched and the case can bust open while pushing them in my famicom to nes converter. But cheapness aside, those actualy work in real american nintendo or famicom hardware. I bought about 15 from volumerate and they all work correctly on my NES except for a single 4 in 1 with corrupted menu but play game ok once you boot them. The 1xx in 1 are a rip off and total crap though. I have one with about 115 that are all mario bros that start at different level and are listed as "moon mario", "save the princess 2" or "dangerous zone", it's so bad its funny. But the 4 in 1 and 3 in 1 are definitly worth it and don't contain "kilobit" game like people are saying. I received some with adventures island 2 and 3, ninja gaiden 2 spiderman hack, tmnt 1, tmnt tournament fighter, 4 different and fully working kunio kun games, some hko like mortal kombat, street fighter and some almost decent clone of dragon ball z 2 from the snes. I was happy to have bought them and waited so long to receive them apart from the 1xx in 1. The mortal kombat and street fighter are so awful it's funny, specialy the music
Heh, I guess it really depends on what kind of hardware you intend to play it on. I've always been partial to Famiclones myself as they tend to be smaller in size and more unique when they can be. It makes for easy transport to a friends place when you want to play something. As for those Yellow carts, I think anyone would agree on that one. Even in China they are well known for being the crappiest of crap. Many vendors give out free replacement cases for games because they know it will brake eventually. They don't even try to cover that fact since it's so obvious. (^_^);
Oh I do agree they're very cheap! No question there:lol: But for 2$, orignal hardware compatibility and a few decent game on them, I'm happy I bought them. Personally I hate using clone because the sound on them and the color palette are way off, specially sound. But they're crappy case that bust open by barely handling them made it easier for me to study them. As I expected they use glop top but I was surprised to find only one glop top in them, it seem like they crammed rom, ram and mapper logic all in a tiny glop which is unusual. Also, they were produced very recently, some as recently as february 2011. I'll try my hand at dumping them at some point when I'll be less busy.
