Why do people insist on bringing their sick children everywhere with them?
If the child is sick, it belongs at home. Not in a movie theater.

So many people put their own desires above their own children.

Now because some idiot brought his whole brood of coughing
diseased children to a movie so he could watch batman,
I am home for the last week and a half with strep throat.

    Yes, a kindergarten level disease.

When did people get so selfish? Here I am sick as a dog and
you won't see me out and about in packed elevators,
    crowded eateries or the subway.

    Just my $0.02

I agree! The best place for ill children is at home, in their beds or at the very least just resting away from us working folks and the elderly. The current thinking however is that it's better that young children circulate with other children whether they are ill or not so that various bugs and illnesses are caught and fought off in younger years.

It's an old tradition to actually cross infect children! Normally this isn't done in the cinema, but by taking children with certain illnesses around to friends houses etc.

    You lucked out!

THe world is full of wankers mate. The other day I was down at Manga Soko at 11pm (it's open till 12am) looking for something to buy. While there I saw this prick playing some PlayStation game while his little baby girl (who couldn't have been more than a few months old) was crying her eyes out. This really pissed me off. I went up to the guy and said "What's more important, your child or this stupid game?" He basically come back with some crap about how it was not his job but the wife's job to look after the kid. You can guess how this wound me up. I never did anything other than call him an idiot (I really wish there was better foul language in Japanese). The poor baby :(

Some parents today are totally dumb.

Just imagine what these kids will become in the future...

I'm the same way, when I'm sick even with just a cold I stay at home and sleep it off. My body seems to fight out stuff like that better when I'm asleep so thats what I do.

here in gothenburg there has been a week-long city fest for the past week, think mardi-gras but in sweden for reference.. i was out with my friends and walking around the streets around midnight there are shitloads of partygoers everywhere.. drinks everywhere.. everyones drunk and showing, shouting and pushing.. nothing wrong with that really.

whats wrong is the shitton of parents pushing baby carriers around in the crowd, no just for the safetey for the kid but how much fun can you have when you cant move 10cms without some drunk bumping into your baby and/or spilling beverages on it.. some people

    Did you lick the kids?

Make sure when you get the cotton swab you throw Capn Crunch up everywhere like I did once when I was a kid.

That sucks. Next time bring a can of Lysol disinfectant and as soon as you see a kid coughing his lungs out, spray that into his mouth.

You know, I haven't been sick for more than a day in maybe 12 years. I don't catch colds, I dont' get the flu, etc. I don't really take very many precautions (wiping off telephones and the like) just because they're silly. I do however wash my hands often, after touching things in public restrooms and the like. That's just nasty. Even if I do get "sick," like say a sore throat, it'll be for maybe 12 hours or so, like I'll be feeling under the weather so I'll go home and go to sleep early, and the next day it'll be gone. I've never been sick enough to miss a day of work in my whole life.

But anyway, I know I must just be lucky, becasue practically everyone else I know gets sick with colds, the flu, sore throats, etc. regularly. Really I don't know what it is, I don't do any other things that would make me more healthy - I only quit smoking a year ago, I still eat out all the time (although I do eat a lot of vegetables and crap now.) Just guess I got the anti-sick gene or something.

ASSEMbler, maybe you should invest money for a gas mask?

All jokes aside, it seems like you get sick often. I've never had that problem, but then again I live in a somewhat small town.

My mom works with children and when a wave of a certain disease comes around, she's usually the first to get it and then I get it from her. You cant blame just the parents for letting their kids get you sick, germs are everywhere. They get everywhere, and unless you're dressed up like a HAZMAT dude, you'll catch them every time you venture into the great outdoors. Maybe New York isn't that great, I don't know, I've never been there.:icon_bigg

Seriously though, Im not trying to turn you into a germ freak, but you might want to buy some sort of gas mask or something.

No need to imagine, just look at certain subcultures...

    1. No dad around
    2. Mom is out looking for the the newest boyfriend

Kids grow up stupid, neglected, with no manners
    nor respect for the law.

The good thing is that sooner or later they will run out of
normal , proper people to mooch off of and will hopefully
all die off or get a brain.

As to getting sick, I get sick with a stiff breeze.

I must have been ill at least half the year, and on antibiotics at least
six times. Ever since I got hurt at work and had two surgeries
I've never recovered. I bet the fuckers left a glove of something
    inside..

That seems like a somewhat harsh diagnosis just from taking their sick children to the movies.

well heres hoping you feel better soon assembler. I work at a gas station so i see examples of this all the time, a mom will walk in with her 5 year old daughter, the daughter will ask, " mommy, can i have ( insert candy or chips or whatnot here)" and the mom will respond with " no, mommy doesnt have any money". and then she will promptly come up to the counter and buy beer, cigarettes and lottery tickets. Dumb fucking bitch, putting beer and a fucking gambling addiction before her own children. Im sorry about the rant, im actually at work right now and im having a HORRIBLE day, so im a little cranky :icon_bigg

You said what i had in mind. And most of these kids are adults today.

I'm a very cool and patient guy, but one of the things that pisses me off is when people go smoke next to me. I almost started a fight because of this, 3 or 4 times. People usually say "Fuck off, i'm paying to be here".

In one of those, i ended up getting a glass full of water and threw the water on the guy's face. I remember all my friends go :eek:h: . It's very difficult to get me angry, so they didn't believed what i did. And just like all these people, the guy's reaction was... nothing.

As for you, i hope you get better. We all know how sick you've been for some time and we're hoping you manage to stay healthier.

Johnny, was it a non smoking area ? or else you need to chill off seriously. When it comes smokers. Not every smoker takes that kind of shit lightly.
After all, the atmosphere is getting polluted of cars much more, than simple smoke. That you can walk away from. And don´t get me going on the smog problem, a lot of big cities have.

Off course it was a non-smoking area. And i probably wasn't the first one to complain. Why would i stay in a smoking area? Plus should i take someone saying "Fuck off" slightly?

In night clubs, bars and pubs, i don't complain, but in a restaurants people that smoke has to know where they should be. Some of my friends smoke, buy they respect other people and go smoke somewhere else, or even later. In the end it's a matter of being respectful.

In France and some other countries, smoking in indoor areas has been banned. It's also true in São Paulo and Rio, with some restaurants having outdoor areas for those that simply can't stop smoking.

And like i said, i'm a cool guy. So, don't worry.

Japanese are getting better about not walking and smoking. Of course some do, but many respect those around them, and the city is putting up smoking-friendly areas on the streets and stuff. Still, when people start smoking in the park when I'm jogging, I want to walk up right in front of them, hike a leg and rip the rankest fart I can brew up, right on them. I believe that's within my rights.

Unfortunately, I've never had the gun loaded when one of these pricks starts smoking right in front of me.
