Funny you should mention that story, something very similar to that happened to a friend of mine once because he was smoking in a movie theater lobby, and some guy got pissed at him. Of course, his reaction (and mine) was far more than nothing  But anyway, as an ex-smoker I can sort of look at it from both ways. It doesn't bother me but I can see how it bothers other people.
"BAKA DESU!!!!!!! " *Sorry, couldn't resist* At any rate, yeah, people suck and are generally incompetent anymore. Unfortunately, this won't happen. The government is going to feed them, give them a house for free, and then pay for their dumbass when they squirt those out. All on our dime! Yay! And with the education system in absolute shambles thanks to the government... the "getting a brain" bit probably won't happen either.
And I thought I had problems with my sinusitis... Dude what happened? with the surgery and that I mean. Back in home (you said you were from texas right?) you could get shot for doing something like that:lol: Indeed, each day more scholarship money gets funeled into some program to help society's ever increasing amount of useless bastards. Whats incredible is that even with the more blatant cases you'll be tagged as a nazi (eugenics) for making any constructive criticism on the matter.
gesundheit macht frei, that is my motto against all those fascist antismoking laws that are going around the world. And it comes from a campaign against the smoking laws in Denmark. And yes it is inspired from nazi expression arbeit macht frei. Since they had the clean aryan bullshit smoking laws.
Yeah, I recall hitler was a non-smoker, vegan and animal lover. Pretty much your average hipster/leftard.
Smoke somewhere where your second hand smoke isn't inhaled by other people (specifically children) and nobody will have an issue with you.
Well Andoba, what you don´t get is . I am tired of being a victim of fucking antismokers . And the totalitarian laws, around all the time. I know how horrible the nazis were, but at the same time I know a thing or two about this world, which I would call blatant fascism. all the cars in the world pollutes more than the smokers. Well, maybe this post will make you think why I am so damn irritated over all those attacks on the smokers. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=290922&postcount=373 and this page of the thread. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10049&page=10 Since I have just had about enough of all that double standardised bullshit. here is the googleified version of the article. Modstandsmans means old Danish WW2 resistance person http://translate.google.com/transla...08/08/20/140422.htm&hl=da&ie=UTF8&sl=da&tl=en http://translate.google.com/transla...08/08/20/061534.htm&hl=da&ie=UTF8&sl=da&tl=en rygeloven means "the smoking law"
What? I haven't said a word about tobbaco. The only thing I was saying is that at least you (PLURAL) don't have to deal with those uncared children. I'm 16 and possibly 80% of the people with which I have to deal everyday are fucking faggots thanks to zero-care of parents. I imagined a nerd looking guy screaming something like "俺の仕事が内、糞外人".
Sorry andoba, I thought it was related to the smoking part. Anyway I agree with the bad parenting bit.
Think of day care centers for children below the age of 4 or 3 or 2 years. They are often sick, playing with poo, infecting the other kids and child care workers. Something politicans and others often forget, when talking about children care and education. And the staff becomes ill, but still works, always frigthened of losing their job. And the parents? Those affluent society career people? They don't give a xxxx - neither about their children, nor about the condition. Just like the Governments.
And I'm sure a few demographic groups are tired of you. Which 'facist' laws are you referring to? The ones passed to protect non-smokers from proven harmful effects.
I admit that 2nd hand smoke is harmful but let's be honest. Unless you're a non-smoker living with a person who smokes or works in a smoke laden environment such as a bar the impact of 2nd hand smoke is minimal at best. It is the equivalent inhaling fumes while pumping gas in that it is not going to burn out your brain cells like pouring it into a rag huffing it.
1: Most of the laws are aimed at protecting employees of places that allow smoking. 2: 2nd hand smoke is annoying. As before, I don't blow massive (and likely unharmful) farts in peoples' faces, so I'd prefer not to breathe their smoke. 3: It actually does effect when I run, so that really, really fucks me off. I don't mind smoking sections... but most restaurants in good ole' Japan are run by idiots. Floors 1 and 2 smoking, Floor 3 non-smoking. You get to go through a cloud of the shit before you get to the clean area. I'm an ex-chain smoker, btw.
1. They may have started out with the intent of protecting employee health (which is dubious in and of itself since people aren't forced to work in smoking environments) but I believe over time have snowballed into simply punishing people who do smoke. I don’t see how else you can explain outdoor smoking bans except as a punishment. 2. Second hand smoke is annoying but I think your analogy is a bit on the extreme side. Maybe it is different in Japan but I think for the most part smokers tend to avoid bothering other people. Like everything else in life though there is always some asshole who only thinks of himself. 3. I'll just have to take your word on this one. While I usually avoid smoking in public on the rare occasions in which I do I tend to more or less look at it as a right of way type of situation. For example if I were to light up near people and they complained I would have no problem putting it out. On the flipside if I'm alone and people show up and then complain I would have more of a problem. I still might put it out but it would more depend on how they asked rather than any type of felt obligation.
1A: B/c if the entire entertainment and food industry allowed smoking in their establishments, you create a slippery slope. People are essentially forced into smoking environments. Even if it started that way, I think it's more towards the customers now. I mean.. unless the area is quarantined, the smoke spills over. 1B: People exercise outdoors. Children play outdoors. Maybe it's b/c I'm a parent now, but I don't want my son breathing in smoke. 2: Most smokers, including myself at one time, aren't very considerate. They smoke and walk down the street, and it gets in everyone's way. It's more of a side effect of a densely populated area filled with smokers. I'd say per capita Japanese are far more considerate... there's just too many of them so you'll always get some smoke when you're outside. I was far more tolerant of smokers until I had a routine which required a jungle gym. I used the one right next to Yoyogi park. Sit ups, pull ups, all that shit. There were guys (quite often kids) that would stand right next to me and puff away. Salarymen, dreading to go home, sitting in the park at night smoking... and doing the worst thing a smoker can do: letting the god damn thing burn to the butt.
GaijinPunch: I had no idea one of the coolest members was such a fucking anti smoker . So here is a hint for you, if you ever go to Denmark. Then stay the fuck inside of the hotel room, since you will see people smoking cigs every where you fucking walk in Denmark. So here is another hint stay the fuck away from me. As I have said before, I have nothing against non smokers, but those non smokers who has gone insane in the non smoking habit. Those are anti smokers. My sister got a bloodclot in her lungs, so she stopped smoking . But if she ever went into anti smoking mode, then I would be the meanest littlebrother she had ever known. GP: I am fucking shocked, you are one of the coolest members here. And you have been smoking shit and tobacco for years, but you have just stopped all those things, which I think is brilliant. But you have become one of those unholy sanctimonious anti smokers. Heck, I have met free masons who were more cool in the smoking department, than you are after you quit the shit and tobacco. What the fuck is the matter with you ? Can´t you see some of us smokers (me by the way) wants to quit, but we don´t want to hear the fucking emptybrained ramblings from the unholy sanctimonious fuckers. Who probably have puffed 80 cigs per day. And now they are some serious "saved" unholy sanctimonious assholes. So cut me a break man.
Fuck smoking. I think the thing I hate the most about smoking is the fact that all the smokers get to take "smoke breaks". Why can't I go stand the fuck around outside for an hour?
