The gundam demo from the E3 was as rendered as the killzone and any other demo sony shown us that day, But now they`ve released a video of the REAL gundam The upper ones are the REAL in-game, and the lower are the rendered hoaxs from the E3 As you can see the PS3 will suffer from the same pixelated textures from the other 2 playstations. Kudos katsuragi, this console deserves 25 hours a day of slave work :smt043
everyone thought the system would cost more than a 3do, now i doubt it will get really higher than the xbox360, if i refer to those pictures. not even surprized. ps3 will suffer from pixilated textures, jaggy edges and fog. wow.
cracks me up is kutagi actually admited the the ps3 would not be on teh cheap side, but said those who really wanted one could afford one, maybe this is why resident evil 5 is getting a 360 port.
You guys are joking, right? Those screen shots are fucking incredible. Damn people, if this doesn't impress you than what will? Maybe I'm just too satisfied with screens that scroll and sprites made up of more than two colors.
They look pretty good. I'm pretty confident that the PS3 will beat the shit out of the 360. I already know it's going to sell more, that's for sure.
Crap I hope thats a result of the capturing process, but those in-game shots look horribly washed out.
well its not entirely fair to judge the quality of that shot since it was tooken on a projection screen at a confrence, when theres direct feed their will be a better judge. Realisticly though they showed at the confence that lighting is what is making the difference as when they took it off it looked like a regular ps2 game. But the reason is not many are impressed, is that realisticly its not the biggest jump ever to occur, i mean all that is happening now is that consoles are now catching up with pc cards, however there is the price of this stuff that is beeing a concern for developers, as well as many have stated that developers are less likely to take advantage of the processors of 360 and ps3. I mean developers have said from time to time while they are able to develop for ps2, many still do not fully understand the hardware thus not being able to use its full potential, i mean can anyone remember when everyone thought the ps2 was extermely powerful and that it could do complexe things and such, yet its been proven already the ps2 is the weakest. Though this time sony for once seems to have made their hardware the most powerful, but if the psp is any indication, its less likely it will sell as well, especially if it hits the $400 or 500 mark. But will just have to see what happens, i got an odd feelign that this might be sonys downfall, no console manufature has stayed at top more then twice. And even then many developers arent fully ready to switch platforms. But damn i wish nintendo wouldnt be so quite atm, i mean this controller secret could make or break the system, will just have to see.
not to offend anyone or anything.. but you all have to remember that the hardware don't make the games.. the game development teams does.. and that means that the look of the game depends much on the skills of the team too.. edit: just wanted to mark that I don't think this look like crap.. but it's not the best I've seen (for the moment I think that is unreal tournament 2007)..
well of course this is a fact, these are just all early looks and such. Im just hoping developers will try and do less sequals in the next gen and focus more on new ideas or newer serise for that matter. Current generastion just doesnt seem that great since alot of games are just thrown out these days, i mean killer 7 was a great game while it lasted, and you want to know someting,i was not at all disapointed when i beat it, i was pretty satisfied, and if i didnt rent it i was going to play through the second mode, still what intriged me alot was its presintation and style, plus the story get very intriguing and you want to play it again and again to fully understand it. What im saying is that the developers need to now just focus on making a good game, we all know that the ps3 is considered powerful on specs and such, but it has been a damn long while since a game has come out that feels fresh and new and something you want to play. I think miyamoto said it best, wever already reached the point where we can do photo realistic graphics, what can we do in gameplay. I think thats what has to happen in the next generation, just games that are fun, and feel fresh. I mean thats what happened to rent a hero really, alot of games just came out and it lost its chance due to a dev delay since the market was oversaturted with mediocore games. Still i think this is the rebirth of the industry as i see it. In this generation to me there just has been mostly excess and less quality.
Sure I have my likes and dislikes about all system but too many people here seem to bash a system for the sake of bashing the manufacturer. I've yet to play the system that showed its full potential in its first generation of games.
It's Bandai, what were you expecting? This Gundam PS3 game could turn out to be nice when they add some decent destructable enviroments.
Um... I might be somewhat blind...but I really can't see much jagginess. Then again, I haven't had a current system for more than a couple of months so I might be a little used to older graphics.
Yeah, it does look like higher end PC games. But from the PS2 perspective it looks fantastic. Well, I can see the graininess of the texture in the wooden beams of that second picture, and looking real close at the robots I see some graininess there too. But hardly any IMO. I think these shots would look a lot better in motion.
true, it looks good. but it doesn't really impress me. If the game was looking as good, or even two times worse than the images of the e3, i would be damn impressed, but this is just not the case. i mean, there's like a generation between the real shots and the hoaxes. just look at the textures in the first hoax screen, and all the junk on the floor. that's no textures, it's all modeled, and THAT is something that could really impress me in this gen: No sprites, no picture backround, no textures to make things you could make in polygons and its own separate texture at the same time, and real time shadows and lights. i think the limit of video games (in therms of graphics only) won't be when you'll be close to reality, in fact, unreal games can looks better than thing imitation the reality. What i would consider the limit is when sprites, backrounds, fog and textures will disapear. what i'm saying about the textures is when you'll be able to zoom on a jean, by exemple, and see every little separed wires that makes the jean. If you zoom on a wall made of you, you'll be able to see every rays, and not only drawed rays, real, modeled rays, you know? taht would be insane, and that would be the limit, i guess. by this won't be seen before alot of years, i mean that we certainly won't be able to see this in our lives.
Comparing a high resolution picture, from a picture taken from a TV is a joke right? Anyway, why not stop the HATE and let's hope this new generation (PS3, Xbox360 and Revolution) brings us new great games? Another thing. It is know that the PS3 has the same power as the Xbox360, or bit more powerful. This made me think... So, Xbox360 game will suck too? :smt096
i don't care about graphics at all either, it's just that sony hyped their machine so much that it is ridiculous.
