To be honest, the only thing that dissapointed me about halo2 was its graphics. I didnt expect too much, it was all those xbox fanboys out there the ones that were talking all day long abut that damn game
Finally someone said something interesting. It's a demo, work-in-progress. Wanna see some pictures of Gran Turismo 3 while being developed, and later compare it to the finished product? I don't like Sony and i also think they are stupid by promoting and hyping their machine. But correct me if i'm wrong, wasn't M$ saying they'll have 1 billion Xbox Live users or something like that? Wasn't M$ saying that the 360 it would be compatible with all Xbox games, and now says only the big hits? Isn't that the same damn thing? Overhyped! Anyway, i still haven't played not a single game from PS3, Xbox360 or Revolution. So, i'll only criticize something after i play all 3. Some people here are saying graphics are everything, but when nintendo said they won't support High-Definition, they said they didn't care about it. Forget the damn systems, start caring about the games!
Remember the pics you have from ign are not at HD pixel depth. You cannot compare the high rez pic to the low rez one. Lets take the crap picture and size it up and you'll see the drop in quality that is cause by the compression of such an image to the ign jpeg size friendly version. If you saw a 1080i pic of the demo, it would not be so vulnerable to attack on the quality. It would be much improved. You cannot take a tiny video or small pic and say the game has jaggies or poor textures. It's not the right resolution to judge.
Indeed, 1 billion Xbox consoles to be precise, thats why I think the X360 could be M$ great (and last) flop, since they are raising the bet without any inmediate profits that could cover the hole in their budget........ Anyways, hype is the very basis of the marketing. If you sell a car with technical specs, nobody is goin to buy it. But if you sell it as a chick magnet, or a cool streetz-racing thing, even if its ugly as hell and powered by a hamster, more ppl is goin to take a look at it that with scientific proof of its mechanical superiority

Even those proper screenshots have a lot of JPEG artefacts as well. And you do have to remember that the PS3 is rendering this at 1080i! New games are gonna look so crappy on my manky 14" -_-
I dont know, after all they said the PS2 could render 70 M/Pol/Seg, then they changed it at 20M/Pol/Seg, and a year ago some developers claimed that due to problems PS2 desing the console couldnt pass the 5M/Pol/Seg without some serious programming (and not all the developers are willing to pay that price). I`ll wait to see if the PS3 can keep up with its word.

I'd post something about a demo movie for a game in progress running on pre-release (and mostly unfinished) hardware, but the feeding frenzy has already begun. I mean, if you somehow feel vindicated in some childish vendetta against a manufacturer by being able to say, "OMGZORS JAGGED LINES!!!1111ichi" on beta hardware, it IS your perogative, but there's a very thin line between that and the typical 'casual gamer's obsession with the game that displays the most prettiest colors. Those pictures look pretty damn good, and if the first gen of games look like that at the very least, we're going to be seeing some rather impressive stuff. If anyone really cares about the games anymore, that is.
Here, here. I really hate the elitist Sony hating that goes on here. You are worse than the PS2/Xbox fanboys, for at least they enjoy something. You think with all the resources Sony have, all the money, and the sheer risk of applying the "PlayStation" name to a product, that Sony will release something other than amazing? Even with that shitty, low res, badly captured picture I can see a hole shit load of amazing lighting techniques. No, it doesn't live up to the other demos yet, but the PS3 is still 9 months off. Don't buy a PS3 when it comes out. No one's making you. But then again, perhaps by that time you will have jumped on the "I hate 360" bandwagon.
It also boggles the mind that you guys seem to think the PS2 will have "jaggies and fog". I can't even fucking look at this topic any more. I wish I was a mod, I'd ban your asses.
Whoa there, Calm down man... I already have seen Xbox 360 pics with Jaggies and fog, and its closer to release than the PS3, But I dont give a shit about Jaggies and/or fog, however. Unless it gets to the point in a game where it is annoying to no end, like some of the GTA games. :death I guess we'll have to wait and see. Im really looking forward to Gears of War for the XBOX 360 and it looks very cool (Artistically and visually) and even if it had Jaggies and fog, I would still like it.
