Well, we don't think the PS2 will have jaggies and fog, we know it does for a fact. On the other hand, the PS3 shall obviously have jaggies. Even with normal mapping the system wont be able to push cinematic levels (read: as many as the artist wants) of geometry, but coupled with a significant ammount of anti-aliasing they will be far more difficult to notice without taking and examining a still image of the scene. As for fog, I expect to see it in lower budget and rushed games. But the vast majority of games will not have it, and if they do it'll be used for atmospheric reasons.

We're just mad to see that sony's hype is, as always, pure bullshit, and this is not an opinion, but a fact, and you just can't argue with that. oh yeah, the game looks great, and we're all ok to say that graphics doesn't mather, but were that ''Super-Computer-killing-machine-that-will-defy-the-moores-law's '''s power anyway? i mean, that's really what sony said, and we where all saying ''is microsoft f*cked up now?'' . heck, we're not even close of the matrix-like world that they where talking about before the ps2 was launched! it's true that on paper, the ps3 is more powerfull, but heck, it's the result that mathers more at then end, and i think everyone have been more impressioned by re 5's screenshots, wich were on the xbox 360 (and at a better resolution and better compression also, true) we can't also deny the fact that those screens shots we're made in low rez and with a bad compression format too. but take a look at the other pictures in the other thread, while it's still better than those pictures, you cannot deny the jaggy problem, that will certainly be corrected, but still, for that ''Super-Computer-killing-machine-that-will-defy-the-moores-law's'' machine, it's a low and unimpressive start. people are angry because of all this hype that sony do, and that will seduce alot of casual gamers that will then start their fan club wars because of it, but in reality, it's just the next step forward, not the next level. Yes, the ps3 still apeal me, and i don't know how it could have sink in my heart because of this, since i think everyone knew it would happen, and it did. BAM! we were mad and a bit a happy at the same time you know, cause the truth was discovered, that it was bad or good, sony or not. and that's were i return to my first comment, saying that people over there are no better than fans boys is an insult, cause were talking with facts of what we see, not with our love to any manufacturer (well, i'm speaking from most of the people) and critiquizing people critiquize feel sort-of eronic. can't we criticize without getting criticized because of it in this forum anymore? it feels stupid, and no better than anyone else here.
I'm not going to defend Sony. We all know they lied with PS2, although it does not mean the console has bad games. But what worries me about this thread is that most people seem to care more about press conference "shitty" talk and stuff like aliasing than with the quality of the games itself. Cahaz, you said the most important thing. All this hype will only be accepted by those who play games just for like 10 minutes. Casual gamers. I'm not bashing those that only like games as a distraction. I think we can't judge others people likes. I like soccer, some people hate it. We all know Sony likes this strategy, so why even care about them. I hope the Xbox360 to be a hit, just to have a better gaming market. I also hope that Nintendo have better results with the Revolution. But i can't be an hypocrite by saying i hope Sony fails with the PS3. Like i said before i like to play games. This is so true that after playing OutRun 2 on the arcades, i'm thinking on getting a Xbox just for that.
It seems like I have been doing a lot of Sony Defending lately, but truthfully there are a lot more Xbox 360 games that interest me at the moment, since FPS has been one of my favorite genres for a while now. The other is RPGs and the PS3 has those "nerdy" RPGs that dont interest me right now.

Basically cuz i think its a superb machine and it has done everything that it promised and more. On the other hand i hate nintendo for the GBASP, and for realeasing a overhyped machine like the DS (instead of giving the public what they want: a bigger screen and more power) Now i dont like M$, but the Xbox/X360 is for the console market what the PSP is for the portables: a pressure point. The xbox has a tremendous capacity, and its thanks to this machine that this new generation is the first to beat the PCs in raw processing power. I seriously doubt that this new generation could be what it is without the presense of M$. If nobody rises the market line, it stagnates. I DO want that the X360 and the PS3 go head to head and end up in a tie. Why? becos in that case we, the users, we are the real winners. We take benefit from the price wars and a superb catalog, all thanks to the effort of this companies to get a bigger market share. When theres no competition comes the monopoly, and any idiot can see what happens then: just look at the PC market

What the hell is up with game designers and bloom lighting? It's not sexy, it's not cool, it's not artistic--it sucks, and makes everything look like overly shiny plastic. If this is what the next gen graphics are going to be like, then fuck all these bastards. Bloom=teh suck.
