well now this is what i call a generous offer. Does it fall under the concept of a gift or is qualifying enough consideration for this to be a proper service? I m enquiring because although I do have a webhosting right now, it might run out sooner or later. My website does consist of some sections, and one of them is a video games section. (hopefuly a game's studio in the near future?) http://www.barc0de.org if anyone wants to have a look - I have intentionally not posted any work in progress or concepts, since I want to get all the legal things out of the way before I launch at some time (currently, in limbo). There are some things in paper relating to actual video games concepts, plus some rough 3d models etc. with one or two being ideas quite interesting by any measure. (so far no one has neared the concept, and i hope no one will, maybe i ll go down in some book for making something original in this day and age and not being nintendo). Enough ranting though Anyway, it is supposed to be become a commercial site at one day,but isn't just yet. Is this ok? PS: site best view at 1280x1024 or higher, maximized window browser, contains frames.
What is the catch? Will there be advertising or pop-ups on the website? Does it accept Frontpage extensions (or whatever the hell it's called?)? How much space do we have available? I would like to move my website to another faster server. I'm a newb, but what is a subdomain? Does that mean the website would have to be something like benedict.assemblergames.com? (A subdomain of Assemblergames?)
Could I register a different domain and have it point to it? (So I could have benedict.assemblergames.com and benedict.com go to the same place?)
Last questions, (1) can I use Frontpage's ftp ability to send/update the files of the website? I suppose I need Assembler to answer that ( (2) as well as how much space we have available because I plan on lots of pic files). (3) Does anything we post automatically become property of Assembler games?
while we're at it, i'll offer up free subdomains forwarding on any of my domains, of course space is up to you lk2c.com spriteidentity.com vaticanroulette.com psotrade.com ca1971.com falseflagterror.com falseflagterror.net poliveg.org not much for videogame related sites but it's open, throw me a pm
It's subject to term of use for quality , content and ads. Basically it can't suck, must follow common sense rules as far as romz warez torrents. You can't put any ads on it either. No liksang, etc. I can enable frontpage support, but frontpage is extremely exploitable, so I would say please no frontpage. Get something like ez web page maker or similar. Your content is your own, I'm not claiming ownership of your work. However remember it's a community network. You'll be required to have a link to the main page of assembler.
What about a page dedicated to first robotics competitors, showcasing the projects of said team Is Such a thing even feasible for this Ryan
So what exactly happened to Roar and all it's sites? It was just sold and that was that? I tried looking up it's history but found nothing...
Kev, I was curious if this is still open as an opportunity? I recently lost my main host who was setting us up with a huge pipe server. We've had to fall back on our topclasshost account which limits us a lot in bandwidth. Not sure THIA would be ok for this though, as with all the stuff we plan on hosting is gonna make your bandwidth skyrocket. I'd really hate for you to be in financial hardship because of it. We crashed our topclasshost SHARED server a couple times and used up 200GB of bandwidth in the span of 48 hours when I started hosting the Resident Evil 4 cutscenes. So I guess I should be asking, are there bandwidth restrictions?
