OK guys, here you go. The ultimate collection of real but whacky Dreamcast prototypes ! Sorry for the crappy watermark but I did these shots many years ago.

Check out that crazy looking plate stuck on a box design! I'm sure glad they never went with that.

    Never release Blue SWATCH Dreamcast.

Check out this early cool orange controller and VMU ! I wish they had released a controller in that colour. Also do you notice that the start button is round and not triangular like the final pad.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures !

I remember another pic of a red DC controller that had that same round start button. Wish I still had it.

I remember that one. It was in an old Guinness Book of World Records. For fastest video games console.

They were taken either at the Dreamcast's first TGS appearance or at the Dreamcast Launch Party in Tokyo. Not sure where. The pictures on the white background came from a magazine but what one I can't remember now. It was over 8 years ago

Regarding the early PlayStation protos, keep in mind that the 16-bit Play Station
(both a SFC/SNES add-on and an all-in-one "Nintendo Play Station") are of a different generation than the 32-bit PS-X / PlayStation.

Yakumo, those pictures are just awesome! I never saw the orange controller neither that weird vacuum cleaner Dreamcast design ^^

Though I'm asking myself why designers with such ugly and unrealisable not to say non-economic ideas are getting paid :110:
