    As most of you guys here, I have always been fascinated about prototypes. It would be awesome to have a thread where we specify all consoles of interest with prototypes pictures to final design. Or maybe this thread is already done? cheers

    I love the shape of the Zapper in the first NES pic, but can imagine how many silly kids would have lost both their eyes had they gone with that design?

    This is going to be a really interesting thread - nice one!

    That last NES picture just looks like the designer looked at a Spectrum + and thought that's a nice look... it even has the Nintendo logo in red which a number of Sinclair machine did too...

    Anyone have that picture of the progression of the PSX controller?

    That they went through something like 30 or so versions of it before settling on the one they finally released?

    It looks like Sony had already decided on a red(orange)-yellow-blue scheme for its logo before any logo was selected. Does anybody have an idea why?

    I have no idea, but some of the logos have something of the SNES logo, maybe they were made when Sony was still working with Nintendo.

    BTW, Anyone knows if this Xbox 360 concept design is real? I couldn't find any info about it...

    Probably to serve a counterpoint to the white/gray color of the system, which they also apparently had already decided.

    in those early PS designs, you can definately see a SNES influence.
