What do you mean by "goofy?" I'm just not a big fan of motion controls at all. It seems by the time you've adjusted to the controls you've finished most if not all of the game.

I meant like clunky / slow but I did not play that much without motion controls tbh. First impressions were just 'goofy'. Im not a fan of motion controls either but it certainly felt better than standard controls with this game.

Hmm, that's interesting. I wonder if you can increase the sensitivity and whether or not that would be helpful. The game does look cool, though. Lots of creative game mechanics.

There are easy ways to counter any weapon though.

I'm not saying that the Charger is the greatest weapon in the game, but it has a lot more utility on a well balanced team than you are giving it credit for.

And yes, all the stuff you said will work: if you're playing a terrible Charger player that has no idea what they are doing. Inkstrike is so easy to avoid it's ridiculous, and really only effective if you catch someone off-guard (and I say this as someone who currently mains the Aerospray RG and shoots 3-5 inkstrikes a match). The grenades might work as well, if the Charger is sitting alone in your territory and no one else is around to help them out. If I see someone throwing grenades at a well positioned Charger, then I'm walking up and taking them out, because unless they have a special going, they aren't going to have much ink for long to mess with me.

Ideally, a Charger is staying out of harm's way to the best of their ability and helping creep up on the enemy or defending territory. A good Charger isn't camping in one spot for the entire match (likely not even for 30 seconds).

    As for Port Mackeral:

Supposedly there's a good sniping ledge in the map, but considering my weapon of choice (until I hit 20: 18 now) I haven't seen it. The way you're thinking about using the Charger there is the wrong way though, as there are multiple corridors so it would be easy to just avoid a corridor being watched by a Charger. The only way the issue you're referring to would make sense would be if four Chargers wound up on a team together (though I don't think it would be even possible for such a team to win).

Yea, you can turn them off. However, even at max sensitivity for the analog sticks, motion controls are still the most fluid when it comes to turning and moving. It took some getting used to, but I've gotten a lot better at it thankfully. Granted I still sometimes shift in how I am sitting and the controls cause my view to go who knows where.

And I just hit 20 last night :) I can finally increase the number of ability slots for the lower-level equipment or reset the ability picks at 30k a pop! I am now able to somewhat customize my stuff!

Hit 20 (man, I can remember a time not long ago when this would have been knocked out in a weekend; fulltime job and a kid sure take out a lot of gaming). Looking forward to the Splatfest this weekend. Hopefully I'll have my new Jungle Hat's abilities maxed out for it. I'm actually pretty happy with my random rolls on my shirt/shoes though, so I may only need one seashell (though I've been pleased with the hat so far as well).

Love Kelp Dome as well. That map is a blast. In fact, the whole way that Nintendo is handling Splatoon DLC is fantastic. Releasing new weapons/maps/modes in increments like this keeps the game fresh. With Titanfall I was bored out of my mind after the first week, with Splatoon I'm sure I'll be hooked up into August when the big update hits.

I absolutely love this game. IMO, it is one of the best FPS ever made.

Well, the US Splatfest will be 4th of July weekend, so that should be fun.

Unfortunately they are nerfing Squid Ninja, Stealth Jump, and the Ink Shoes in a July 1st update. Ugh, now they'll likely be useless.

I can't see the need to nerf those 3 things. I especially like using ink shoes. They do, however, need to either nerf the range of the rollers ranged attack or lower the damage so you have to be hit twice. Rollers are ridiculous, espcially once you get higher up in rank.

I bought splatoon from the eShop last week and I have really been enjoying it. I got to level 10 in 24 hours and I'm at level 15 now.

Beat the singleplayer mode the other day and that was fun. I'm currently maining the aerospray RG as well.

Good time to get Splatoon. August update just went up and now there are private parties, you can form your own squads, level cap has been raised to 50, and two new weapons.

    AND a Splatfest this weekend.
