I've been a member (and long time reader) of the Assembler forums for quite some time and I just realized I never formally introduced Analogue Interactive and my products...until now!

Just finished another Black Label Cocobolo and it never ceases to amaze. Cocobolo has some of the most dramatic grain patterns out of any wood in the world - it's rich with reds, blacks, whites, olives and purples.

Here is the MVS cartridge we designed exclusively for our friends over at NG DEV.TEAM.


The cartridge has a nearly identical build and sticker recess to an original MVS cart. Like all of our other products, always hand crafted! They are very durable as well as being fingerprint and scratch resistant. I will put together some more photo sets to better showcase them soon!

 

Laminate? No way!! Absolutely never. Seriously, that is blasphemy. Every single product I produce is 100% hand picked wood, hand crafted. Veneers/laminate is the antithesis to everything I stand for. Never.

The unique grain patterns you see are indicative of it being 100% real wood. Every piece of real wood is genuinely unique. All wood is hand picked and hand matched for flow and aesthetics. For example, if you take a look at the Cocobolo, the front face of the unit was actually matchbooked. We got our hands on some thicker than normal Cocobolo and cut it in half. This results in two pieces that have nearly identical grain. You then creatively utilize the grain to create mirror images. It's a very old, high end woodworking technique that you'll see in some of the finest furniture or architecture in the world.

 

Other than straight up hand carving out of a giant piece of wood, I'm unaware of any woodworking method that would allow you to handcraft something this complex with one solid piece of wood - there are just too many parts and angles. That said, if you or anyone else were looking for a Black Label unit with a particular grain style, matchbooked, or all grains matched or flowing in a particular way, that can absolutely be done! Feel free to contact me directly with anything you are looking for, totally happy to work on cool ideas. Really, we can do anything you'd like with wood via Black Label, the crazier or more unique, the more fun - thats what the entire Black Label service is for and why I love it so much!

 

I'd love to get one if it wasn't so damned expensive. Not only that but I'm not a fan of wood carved stuff. I actually prefer a plastic case for my stuff. Maybe eventually once I get a RGB arcade monitor.

I do like how it looks like a AES. They do seem to have the board revision I'd want.

 

I don't really care about the AES look. Still got my 2 slot board without case, or any mods.

Not a Neo fan!? So much to love!!

They really have to be seen in person..I find that anyone that is on the fence about wood, once they see it in person, they are always blown away!

 

I've been around finely crafted wooden stuff all my life. My stepdad made his own bows among other things. That's why I don't care for wood. For me wood is what you burn in winter to keep warm...

 

Ah, so you are very familiar! I understand, it's not for everyone. Would still love to show you one in person
