FS: Systems And Games (PS2 Test & PSX Debug)

My brain finally levelled-up and came to the conclusion that hording vast piles of games and consoles that I'll never play is a waste of my time, money and space - all of which are valuable commodities. Because of that, I'm going through my collection and rooting out everything that I don't play - so I'm getting rid of lots of games and systems. It has taken me two weekends to get this initial load of stuff photographed, tested (well, the systems) and written up. There's a bunch more stuff to come (see the end of the post). Unless otherwise mentioned, all systems and games are PAL UK (European). PSUs have a UK plug, not a European plug.

I should point out that I'm not in desperate need of the money, nor do I urgently need the space back. So, if this stuff doesn't sell for the asking price, it's not going to bother me - don't expect any price-drops in the near future. Having said that, if you think my prices are way out of line (they're mostly based on what I paid), feel free to make offers via PM. I can't promise I'll accept them, but there's no harm in trying. :) Trades are possible, but the only things I'm looking for are some Sega Master System games (there are a small number of US releases I need - I can list them), a few MVS games and an Amiga 1200 accelerator board.

I will post all of these items internationally (all items are located in the UK).

Picture time! Please click on the images to view the full size photographs (they are quite large):

    US Debugging Station - "DTL-H1001" - Working: £40 - SOLD

Note the missing cover for the parallel port:

Cosmetically, this system's top half is noticeably discoloured - the blue is much darker than the under-side. You can see it on the front where a sticker used to be, too. There are also a fair amount of scratching on it and the parallel port cover is missing. Having said all of that, it works great. I've used it quite a bit during my ownership and have never had a problem.

This is the US model, so requires 110 Volts. If the buyer wants, I can include the boxed 45 Watt UK->US step-down transformer and US power lead I use with this (£10 extra should cover it; it's quite heavy).

Postage within the UK (Special Delivery) will be £10 (the difference will be refunded if it's cheaper); postage to mainland Europe will be in the region of £15; postage to the US will be obscenely expensive - but I can investigate further if there is interest from USian buyers. Combined shipping is still available if you want other stuff. It will be well-packed with bubble-wrap and shipped in a box.

    More photos available on request.

    Japanese PS2 Test - "DTL-H10000" - Working: £70 - SOLD

Here are some photos of it in action (these were taken a few months back):

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090413/PICT1005.JPG

In pretty good cosmetic condition and in great working order. It doesn't play European or USian PS2 discs, but plays Japanese PS2 games fine (that's not a fault with the unit, that's how it's meant to work). It also plays all region of PSX games. It runs on 220 Volts, so works fine with a normal UK power lead. For an extra £5, I'll throw in a Japanese copy of Gran Turismo 3 with the reference guide book. :)

Postage within the UK (Special Delivery) will be £10 (the difference will be refunded if it's cheaper); postage to mainland Europe will be in the region of £15; postage to the US will be obscenely expensive - but I can investigate further if there is interest from USian buyers. PSX - Complete - Working: £8

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090425/PICT1145.JPG

A complete SCPH-5502 system in good working order (not chipped). It comes with all paperwork (I think) and their plastic bag. Includes one controller, UK power lead and a RF cable. Please note that, despite the sticker on the front of the box, the demo disc is not included. The box isn't in great shape (see the pictures), but I wouldn't say it was bad.

Venom PlayStation Dance Mat - Untested: £3.00
    [IMG]

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090413/small/PICT1028.JPG

I honestly don't have the space to lay this out and test it, so it's being sold as untested. I know I could partially fold it out and just press the pads, but meh. Not sure if it ever had a manual, but there's not one included. The box is a bit damaged around the edges.

    -----

PlayStation Consoles - Bare units: £1.00 each
    [IMG]

Top-left: SCPH-7002 - SOLD. It plays retail discs fine, but not CD-Rs. Lid has problems closing - you have to fiddle around with the catch to make the button pop back up.

Top-right: SCPH-5502. It was chipped, but the chip was removed and sold separately. Plays retail discs fine. Has the same lid closing problem as the above unit.

Bottom-left: SCPH-5502. FAULTY. Seems to be standard retail unit. It loads part way through the retail disc I tried on all of the consoles, but it won't get past a certain "loading" screen. I cleaned the disc, but that didn't help. The disc works fine on the other three machines, so I'm selling this machine as faulty. It is also missing the cover for the parallel port on the rear of the console.

Bottom-right: SCPH-5552 - SOLD. Seeems to be standard retail unit. Plays retail games fine, but is also missing the cover for the parallel port on the rear of the console.

Game Boy Color - Pokemon Yellow pack (US) - Incomplete: £10.00 - SOLD
    [IMG]

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090413/PICT0967.JPG

Working, but is missing the manual and Pokemon Yellow game cartridge (although it does have the manual for Pokemon Yellow). The previous owner has scrawled his name on the back of this unit and it has quite a lot of scratches (see the images). The box is a little rough and has a dent/tear in the lower-left corner (again; can be seen on the images), but has the inner section to hold the console. Comes with two AA batteries (not sure how much life they have left), unless the buyer requests otherwise.

    GameCube Console (Black - Loose) - Working - £5
    [IMG]

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090503/PICT1296.JPG

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090503/PICT1297.JPG

Includes power-pack, but no A/V lead, controllers or anything else - just the console and PSU. Tested and working, but it is little dirty and the front is yellowing (see the second picture).

    -----

GameCube DK Bongos - £6.00 each
    [IMG]

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090418/PICT1074.JPG

The left box has some damage, as shown in the follow two pictures:
    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090418/PICT1075.JPG

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090418/PICT1076.JPG

They seem to be slightly different models (at least the boxes are different):
    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090418/PICT1077.JPG

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090418/PICT1079.JPG

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090418/PICT1081.JPG

The left set is complete, with the card-thing unscratched, but the box has some damage. The right set is missing the manual and the card has had its number revealed and presumably used. I have the Donkey Konga and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat games which are listed further down.

    -----

    Saturn Model 2 - Loose - Working: £10 - SOLD
    [IMG]

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090503/PICT1300.JPG

The console itself works fine (although it quite dirty) and comes with an RF lead and power lead. As well as that, it comes with a "skeleton" controller, but the connector is slightly broken. The far-left wires keep touching, making it do weird things - but should be easy to fix (seems to work fine when separated).

    -----

Neo Double Games - Complete - £7.00 each
    [IMG]

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090418/PICT1103.JPG

Both are complete and work, but the boxes are dented on the back. The left system comes with Fortress Guardian and Submarine Invasion, whereas the right one comes with Street Fighter (no relation to the Capcom game of the same name) and Soccer. These are terrible, but fun if you like crappy knock-off/fake systems. Dr Ashens has videos of these on his site, if you're curious as to how bad they are.

    -----

    Sinclair ZX Spectrum+ - Boxed - FAULTY: £5.00
    [IMG]

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090413/PICT0980.JPG

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090413/PICT0981.JPG

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090413/PICT0982.JPG

Not sure if this really is faulty, but I'm having difficulty with it. It powers on fine and I can see the screen, but it seems that the RF connector is a little dirty/broken, since the image is in black and white - audio is a lot of hissing. I've had this happen with another Spectrum, but cleaning up the connector fixed that on the other one. I've had a quick go at cleaning it, but no improvement. The cable is not the problem, since I've tested it with other systems.

I'm kind of inept when it comes to Spectrums (well, my Plus 2 works as I'd expect, but these older units confuse me). Pressing keys doesn't seem to do what I'd expect; they seem to display commands and such, with some keys not doing what I think they should do. Not sure if that's how they're mean to work or it it's broken. I've not tested loading software from a tape. I can test tape loading if someone tells me how to work the blasted thing! :)

It comes with the PSU, RF cable, cassette cable, what I assume to be a joystick adapter, polystyrene inserts and the box - but no cassette player is included! The poly inserts are broken in places (as visible in the pictures) and seem to have reacted with one of the PSU's leads, making it white and nobbly (kind of visible in the first image - see the wire wrapping around the PSU). The Spectrum+ unit itself has a nasty sticker on the front, scratches on the back and a chunk of BluTac over the expansion port (seemingly used to keep the joystick adapter in place). The box is falling apart, but will be included.

Buyer gets to pick five free Spectrum tapes from the list below.

    Amstrad NC100 x2 - Faulty - £4 (left one) and £2 (right one)

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090503/PICT1306.JPG

Neither of these work, but have different errors. I've only tried them with batteries, since I don't have the PSU for them. The one on the left is in good condition (as is the carry case), but doesn't power on at all.

The right-hand system is much worse off; the "Function" and "#" keys stick down when pressed and the bottom-edge of the case is missing (see the second picture). This does power on, but always gives a "the lithium battery is low, please replace" message. I replace the battery with a new one, but got the same message - so selling as faulty.

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090503/PICT1242.JPG

The box is in pretty crap condition, but everything is there.

    Bug Controllers x4 - Complete - Working: £4 (each)

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090503/PICT1236.JPG

Two-button joystick things with a DE-9 connector on the end; they work with stuff like Amigas, Atari STs, Sega Master Systems, etc. Only two are shown, but I have four for sale.

    -----

SG ProPad Controllers x4 - Sealed: £4 (each)

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090503/PICT1234.JPG

Two pictured, but I have at least four of them (all sealed). These are my favourite controller for the Mega Drive, but I prefer the much more colourful European releases to this bland blue/purple variety...

    -----

    Dreamcast Keyboards x2 - Boxed: £5 (top/left) and £3 (bottom/right)

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090503/PICT1308.JPG

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090503/PICT1309.JPG

The top/left keyboard has a much nicer box and include the original protective bag. The other one's box is pretty knackered.

    -----

    Mini Poly 2000 - Boxed - Faulty: £2
    [IMG]

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090425/PICT1148.JPG

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090425/PICT1151.JPG

This used to work (despite the rusted and broken battery compartment - see the last photograph), but it didn't work when I tested it recently. It has a few block games; Tetris is the only one I can remember. It's actually not bad - but it's not amazing. The box is pretty beaten up.

    -----

Power Joy Super Max - Complete - Working: £10
    [IMG]

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090425/PICT1153.JPG

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090425/PICT1156.JPG

This is a Famiclone with two controllers; one of which is clearly ripping-off the almight N64 controller (it also has a built-in light phaser). It also includes a power supply and A/V lead. Good working order, but the glue down the side of the box has dried - see the last picture. Should be easy to fix if you have some glue.

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090425/PICT1175.JPG

I bought this -- what appears to be a Famiclone -- new a while back and haven't played it. I have taken bits out of their packing to make sure it's all there, but that's it. apart from a dent in one of the box's sides (see the third picture), it's in great condition.

    http://www.aypok.co.uk/photos/selling/20090425/PICT1169.JPG

This never worked for me - it doesn't seem to power on or do anything. I don't know what the problem is (I'm no good at diagnosing hardware), so it could be an easy for - or it could be unfixable. I make no promises either way. It comes with the polystyrene packing, two controllers and a boxed power supply. The box is trashed - as is evident from the pictures.

For those who don't know what it is: it's apparently an old Pong-style machine from the '70s - it includes three variations of the game. That is according to information on the interwebs; I've never been able to get it working to confirm.

As you may have noticed from this thread; I like crap - which is why I have one of these. It is now up for sale, along with my other crap. It includes batteries, a bunch of cards (including a small stack of barcodes taken from various products) and manual. The box is a little tatty (see pictures).

I don't have anything with which to test this, so is sold as untested. £5.

    -----

Boring terms and conditions, etc. You only need to read the following if you want to buy something. Sorry if it's a bit "thorough", but I'd rather everyone was on the same page.

All consoles/systems are tested and sold as either working or faulty (see the individual descriptions). Games will not be tested until people request them and the interested party will be informed as soon as possible if a game is not in full working condition. This may seem odd, but I don't have the time to test every single game when I don't know if people even want them. If it turns out that people do want every single game, every game will be tested and sold as either working or faulty. Assume working unless otherwise informed.

The deal with packing: Being a collector, I know that good packaging is a must; paying top dollar for a nice new game/system, only to receive it in a tattered state because the seller packed it in nothing but a thin layer of brown paper and FAIL is horribly frustrating - I'm unfortunately very familiar with that situation. For that reason, I promise to take good care when packing up stuff for dispatch. Sturdy items (games in plastic cases, carts, etc) will be wrapped in a few layers of bubble-wrap and then placed inside a jiffy bag. More fragile game boxes (Lynx, SNES, etc) will be wrapped in bubble-wrap then placed in a corrugated card box - the same goes for bare consoles. Boxed systems (and large items) will be wrapped in a thick layer of bubble-wap, then covered in brown parcel paper. I am flexible, so if you want a boxed system packed in another box, that can be arranged (at cost to the buyer).

At the time of writing, I don't have enough boxes or bubble-wrap to send off everything I have listed - mainly because I don't expect much interest in most of it. Please note that it may take me a day or three to source packing materials. If that is the case, I'll inform you before taking payment. If I have to purchase extra packing, you will not be charged more. All prices included packing costs (unless you specifically request something packed in a golden rocket, or something).

The deal with postage charges: All priced EXCLUDE postage charges. Postage is charged at cost. I'm far too lethargic to go and check the real postage costs at the Post Office, so here's how it'll work: I'll charge an over-estimated cost (based on the rough weight and the price given to me by the Royal Mail web site), then refund the difference. I've sold like this another forum and it worked quite well. I will get proof of postage for everything; scans will be provided on request. All small/light items will be sent via Royal Mail (First Class Recorded - or Special Delivery by 12:00 for the more expensive items). Larger items will be sent via the "standard parcel" method, but will also be recorded. If you've prefer things sent via a carrier, that can be arranged.

The deal with payment: I accept payments via cheques drawn from UK banks (this is my preferred method), PayPal's "gift" transfer (or cover the 4% fees and send via normal PayPal methods) and probably bank transfers (PM me if you want to use this method). You're welcome to collect stuff and pay in cash (I'm slightly South-West of Birmingham).

Questions about any of the items (including postage charges) can be asked in the thread or via PM (although there's no need to post "PM sent", as I'm quite capable of noticing PMs :)). I can provide extra details and pictures, should anyone request such things.

I'll definitely take any remaining Neo Geo Pocket games. Let me know what's still available and what postage on them would be. Thanks

Cool, thanks for confirming that - my post has been updated. All the PSX consoles I've used are 1002s, so I've not come across that screen before.

Sold (to another user who PMed me much earlier). I'll PM everyone else who displayed interest in this item to let them know it's no-longer available.

I'll weigh it up tonight when I get back from work (about 20:00 BST) and send you a PM.

It won't be heavy, just a little unwieldy since the SNES scope's box is quite long. It'd probably be worth sending that separately. As I say; I'll get details to you this evening.

The Mega Drive 2 is on hold for someone who PMed me -- as are most of the games -- and the NGPC is on hold for concept (per his post above). Should he not want it, you're second in line for it.

All Mega Drive games except these are still available: Aladdin, Altered Beast, Chuck Rock II, Galaxy Force II, Cool Spot, and Sonic 1.

The only NGPC games not on hold are: Fatal Fury: First Contact, Neo Cherry Master Color and Neogeo Cup '98 Plus Color. I'd say £3 for postage - I'll refund the difference if it's less than that (which it probably will be).

Note to no-one in particular: I've gone through the thread and marked several items as being on hold. Thanks for all the interest so far.

    Pikachu N64 - Complete: £20.00

I think they're the same weight as the other N64, which is slightly over 2Kg. Royal Mail's web site says it'll cost about £28 to send the pair of them to France (in a single parcel) - not sure if they'll take something that big, though.

It could be cheaper if using a parcel carrier, but I'll need to find the dimensions to get a quote on that. I'll take a look and PM you tonight with more details.

Right, I think that's everyone PMed and all PMs replied to. If you're waiting for a PM from me, send me another one - I'm not ignoring you, it has just gotten lost in the torrent of PMs. :)

It's still available. You have a PM.

Paid for and shipped to another buyer, I'm afraid. Thread updated to show that and removed a few other sold items.
