Hey guys, so I finally modded and upgraded the HDD on this stock Xbox I have had here for the past 3 months. All the hard stuff I took my time with and everything has worked well. I have successfully transferred 1 game last night after I softmodded it just to see how the mod went. I got that 1 game to transfer fine. Today after I cloned the HDD and installed the larger one, I decided to try more games out. I used Filezilla and FlashFXP, as well as C Xbox Tool. None are successfully 100% completing the transfers without missing tons of files. Re-queuing them doesn't help either. Now, this isn't my first rodeo, I had a modded Xbox up until 3 years ago, and know the inner workings of the system pretty well. I am using a standard Ethernet Cat 5 cable plugged directly into the PC, and my settings are what are recommended for FTP'ing. I have it set to static as well. I can FTP into it and everything, so it is getting a connection to my PC.
Isn't there a problem with some Xbox games that filenames are way too long for the filesystem, so they cannot be installed on Xbox? Maybe that is the issue?
Maybe you've got too many ftp channels open in your pc side ftp clients? The xbox only supports one active ftp file transfer at a time. If your client is trying to send several files simultaneously then all except one will fail. However this shouldn't happen if you're using an xbox specific tool. I use FileZilla myself and haven't encountered any problems at all.
I tried searching on Google first for the issue and I saw some people said to limit the number of connections on Xbox to no more than 8 and on FTP program to no more than 4, although I tried making both systems do only 1 connection at a time.
Did you format the extra partitions correctly? HDD size What are you trying to transfer? List one file that's failing. ( including path ) If FlashFXP is failing to transfer then it's something Xbox side.
Yes, I actually used your tutorial on Youtube, where you included CHIMP. I am trying to transfer various games, to e/games. I am trying to transfer for instance the homebrew port xDescent. Maybe I did something wrong in the cloning procedure? I might try running the softmod again fresh on this HDD and maybe that will fix it. Edit: Jesus Christ I think I see what I have done, I am installing it to E instead of F. I cloned the drive and was just trying to put games where it was before. I am an idiot carry on. XD
