He meant the Vita was the best way to play PSP games (hence "it's the best PSP"). I really thought that would've been obvious with the part about mapping buttons to analog. BTW, anyone remember those pre-release PSP hype pictures of people walking around with them, listening to music with their PSPs hanging on lanyards around their necks? Those were so ridiculous for at least a couple of different reasons: not only did PSPs never become accessories like Sony wanted ("the next Walkman" lol), but who'd hang a heavy-ass PSP around their neck?
Now this is something i would love. Also it would have muscles for some good emus... it hasn't been CFed yet? it's really surprising!
According to a quick google, there's a CFW that allows access to the PSP emulator in the Vita, but not the Vita hardware itself yet.
That is a fact. It kinda sad to be honest. I don't personally play games on smartphone. Hmm his post rather confusing or either confusing myself here. So playing PSP games on PSvita? I din't know that was available to do that. That case, my apology to you. Yes You are right about that one. I guess at the time in 2004 was new to technology that able to do Picture, games, movies, music, online and internet all in one device. Way before that happening Original Iphone 2007. I remember quite of few people walking around in town shopping centre having PSP strapping around their neck while PSP playing music. It was bloody silly to be honest.
Mairsil is a respected [even more so around here] developer. It's one thing to emulate games. yes it's piracy, yes it's ancient games, those are there own arguments, but blatantly open discussion of piracy of current games should not ever be allowed. I willingly admit I pirate PC games before I play them. Then I go out and buy the games because [usually] I enjoy them. It's an odd justification and isn't watertight I'll admit, but you can almost guarantee if your game is good, it's going to get you a sale.
The Vita has firmware hacks for the PSP portion that allows PSP isos and all that. The thing about these forums that new people don't seem to realize is yes, we get it, you pirate stuff, but we have respected developers here. Keep it to yourself. No one is going to question you if you don't bring it up, there is no need to brag here.
Thanks for the comments. I try not to let people like amiga get to me, but having seen how much damage blatant piracy can do to the handheld ecosystem (which is what I am currently focused on), I had to vent a bit.
Good luck man, I can sympathize. Thankfully indie gaming has become trendy otherwise people would completely ignore you cus you do not have brand recognition and shittons for advertising.
He's banned anyway.. It is, but not completely, and there's now no way (that I know of) to load the CFW on the PSP side now since it used an exploit I afaik.
Lolwhat? I dont know if you own a PSVita but you can map PSP buttons to analog sticks on PSVita, so you can use it for aiming. It still feels like a digital control but it works much better. Sony cared more for the ultra-lame Sony Mylo than PSVita. TN-V is a complety functional CFW for PSP emulator on PSVita. You can load every PSP game, use plugins, use all the classic CWF VSH functions, emulators and so. Media Engine co-processor is not emulated but only POPS and some scene really use it.
