This is a new(i think)technical demo from the nintendo gamecube. http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=35603
Don't know how "new" that is, it was part of the SDK, so if the SDK is floating around somewhere so is this demo. It is pretty neat, I've run it on my DDH before, but it pretty much just walks you through everything, there isn't much to control.
Hey, isn't there another topic for the same video? ;-) http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=336738#post336738
I wouldn't mind seeing it released as it might prove useful to the Dolphin-Emu devs for improving the graphics plugins without having to go through all of those games. That's my guess though, I'm not entirely sure if it would help at all. But if they were to emulate everything in the tech demo, maybe it would help with other games.
ehr, the effects can be pulled off on stock hardware but the amount of geometry is what I doubt about the most. I really doubt that this is a tech demo, it's more like a video of what level of graphics one should expect - which makes some sense considering they never intended the public to see this, probably to avoid the comparison of the final product's abilities to this video demonstration's quality. *the video's quality doesn't give a fair representation of the poly count so I could be wrong, i sure hope I am =)
Yes it runs on stock hardware,(tested with a xenogc) and by fixing the region code from TESTNA it mostly works on dolphin also. I am in the process of uploading now Edit: Uploaded http://www.fuzionstudios.com/DeveloperDemo.rar
It works on the Nintendo Wii too, but requires MIOS v4 and BC v2 ARM modules in the flash. Newer modules will block the disc (because it has protections to block certain modchip discs from working) If your Wii has updated modules (System software version 3.00 or newer) it will not work.
I just realized I uploaded a non shrunk iso, reuploaded a much smaller ~13mb file of same thing. Same URL
If you have a hacked enough Wii, you can downgrade only the GC emulation files (BC and MIOS) to the versions I mentioned earlier. But the next disc you insert will re-update them to the version contained in the disc.
