Is someone able to re-host the demo? I've been looking for it for years :(

    Thanks.

Yeah, you can donwload the demo here

Otherwise, I have a question. I tested the demo on Gamecube hardware (DOL-001 PAL) with component cable through PSO exploit. Demo run well and offer some nice features like changing resolution, interlacing, anti aliasing or screen frequency in realtime.

But, the demo that I have downloaded has some minor diferences with that one that we can see on the web. Textures, for example, in bump mapping scene. On the videos we see cushions like texture on the celing at the bottom of stairs. On the demo that I have tested, is just flat colored texture.

Is there many diferent versions of this demo around the web ?

    I have a Gamecube model DOL-001B (I think) with a QoobSX chip.
I tried to burn this at 4x on my regular mini-dvd media (works for all other games) but this one didn't load up. I used the compressed 13MB file to do it. Any ideas? Thanks guys!

    Thanks so much for this.

Literally 'years ago' when GCN games were just starting to get ripped (within month a couple of months of Animal Crossing being dumped) i came across a disc image of a supposed 'developer demo' the it was a non scene dump and came with a text file describing this so-called tech demo.

Quite some time later I eventually got my Gamecube chipped pretty much only for the purpose of running the sizable collection of jp games i had amassed. I picked up a few blank mini-dvds to try a couple of unsual ISOs i'd picked up like the leaked pre-release of Killer7 and 50dotcal's debug enabled Resident Evil 4 demo. Both of these games had worked fine but when I burnt the 'tech demo' it wouldn't boot.

I assumed it had been a fake or and encrypted image of an NR disc. So until I saw this video I was never really sure the demo actually exised. It had been the source of much frustration/disapointment for me over the years, and even more so when this video showed up.

SO thanks all for making this available :)

You must extract the archive and run it through PSO or convert image to ISO and burn it.

    Ah, thanks!
Do you know of a good program to convert the image from a .gcm to an .iso?

You did not need to convert GCM to ISO for running GC program. But if you want still convert, you can download this program here

Yes, I did extract it to about 1.4GB, then burned that image using ImgBurn. Usually works on all other games, except this demo :(....

Even with a modchip installed in the GC? Interesting...I thought the hexedit only applied to people trying to run the .gcm on their Wii machines.

It worked flawlessly without any modifications on my GC with a drive chip (Xeno GC)
I don't have any with bios modchip (Quoob/Viper) to test... So I don't know how it would behave on such units but probably plays fine in them as well ...

Edit the header indeed is only required to people willing to make their isos Wii compatible.

I dont think it needs to be hex edited nor converted. Imgburn can burn gcm images perfectly fine.... I have burned gcms numerous times!
As long as you have a hardmodded gc or a hard/softmodded wii it'll be fine. (sorry for tha late response XD)

It works perfect using GC Backup Loader on a softmodded wii. Of course, I got this from The Purple Cube a while back.

If the disc you have worked, it has been edited. With the original header the wii will *reset* and return to the system menu.

I tried my copy on a softmodded wii and it didn't work until I reinstalled the softmod using the same version of mios I described on the post you quoted.

My copy is the one that was posted the first time (1.3GB, painful download... )

The new copy has been resized for a more reasonable size, too.

I had no problem running it on my PAL Wii without any hexediting.
I compiled a multi game ISO with a number of other 'in development' images. I think I may have had to force NTSC on it though. Also, cycling through the video options while the demo was running would cause problems.

It was well worth the wait though :) Now if only we could get the cars demo dumped among others...

If I remember correctly someone here has/had it.
I'm almost certain I've seen screens and or direct feed video here

I've seen, and probably still got some footage of it running on the show floor at E3/Spaceworld when the Gamecube was anounced. It was cam quality and only a few seconds worth

It did not work on my Wii at all. Once I downgraded the MIOS it started to work.

Like I mentioned earlier, Nintendo blacklisted several gamecube discs because MODCHIP vendors were using the disc IDs for their "utility discs". (Most notably mention being Wiikey)

If your Wii was not updated through Nintendo servers before it got soft modded then you probably have the old MIOS. Or even the sofmod process patched out the checkings. I can't tell at all, there's at least three Wii softmod packages I know of. And there might be more that I never heard of.

Also, my Wii is of NTSC/USA kind.
