I rarely if ever finish games. My ADD is terrible, they are either too long and I lose interest or my backlog is so huge I want to move on to another game.
Beat X-Com: Enemy Within on PC about 2 weeks ago. The turn-based strategy gameplay brought me great joy as fan of Tactics Ogre/FF Tactics series. Although I will say now I know why the RNG element of this game is so infamous - had a few too many shots miss with a 98-99% hit chance for my liking. I also think the game could've done a bit better job of stressing the importance of certain aspects, such as the need to set up new satellites/uplinks at a constant rate - lest you suddenly realize mid-game how screwed you're going to be in the coming in-game months. Still, the interesting story elements coupled with the near constant stream of new developments in the resource management sphere, did keep things fresh enough from beginning to end. All in all the positives more than made up for the few blemishes. Looking forward to playing X-Com 2 eventually, but I think I've had enough of the series for the moment.
Dragon Quest VI on the nintendo DS, it took me more than 100h (mostly due to levelling up). I'm playing DQIX now
Worked through a few more Capcom games for my Capcom playthrough this week: 1943 - Ace shoot em up game and one I definitely prefer to 1942 - its shorter, faster paced and you have an energy bar. I ended up completing the game via the PS2 collection, since the Saturn port doesn't let you continue on the final level, and I suck when it comes to fighting the Yamato battleship. Tiger Road - Played through the PC Engine port a few times. Initially I found it really tough, due to how the collision detection worked for weapons (only the tip of the weapon deals any damage) plus the enemy positioning is somewhat evil in places (the part on the final level with the instant kill skulls got me too many times to count!). But once I got the feel for the game I really enjoyed it, its not as solid as the arcade port for sure, but I liked the new cartoony graphics and definitely appreciated the final boss being harder (in the arcade version, if your powered up he'll be a complete pushover) Street Fighter - Completed the arcade port via the PS2 collection and wow, this game feels like it ages worse and worse each time I play it. The controls are really floaty/clunky and the collision detection is a mess. Add in the hilariously overpowered special moves and you have a game that isn't really all that good at all. Somehow it manages to have some kind of charm attached to it, as I didn't actually hate my time with the game at all, well maybe a little when fighting Sagat as he's a cheap bastard! I played a bit of Street Fighter 2 after I was finished and it still amazes me just how they manage to go from SF1 to SF2 - the difference in gameplay and controls is like night and day.
Finally finished Crash Team Racing with all platinum relics! Nearly gave up on N.Gin Lab. I'm so sick of that game now.
I have just finished Hotline Miami Collected Edition on PSVita. This game is so addicting ! Just need to unlock few masks and weapons. For those who don't know the game, it is a strategic die and retry game, with scoring elements. The pitch of the game is a bit strange but it is definetly a great game ! And the physical release for sale in Japan has full English (and even French) text for the first game (collected edition is a compilation of both Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami : Wrong number).
Its just a pity that HM2 was just a download code, as having both games on 1 physical cartridge would have been ace. That said, I was glad HM1 was the one that got a physical release, I prefer it to 2. Difficulty and level design was slightly more well rounded, there were parts of 2 that really frustrated me due to off screen deaths. HM1 had less/none of that, it was just damn hard but at least I saw what killed me! 100%ing that game was so darn satisfying, I'm not sure I'll ever manage to A+ all the levels in the sequel any time soon.
I agree, a DL code for HM2 is a bit strange, and you need a japanese PSN account to do it. I also prefer HM1, even if I really hate the final boss. I haven't been able to get an A+ for the moment. The controls are a bit strange at the beginning but when you get them, the gameplay is as great as simple.
A few weeks ago I picked up Halo 3 for my Xbox 360 before i started modding it, as well as a few other games. Beat the game on standard difficulty in under a day. Was not super amazed by it, was fun, but I doubt I will go back to replay it again anytime soon
I finished Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64 version) the other day. This game was pretty hard, at least for me personally; especially near the end. It's really funny of course; that's the main reason to play it, I think. I've gotten pretty far in the Xbox version before, but never finished it. I've had my copy of the N64 version for a while, so I decided it was time to finish it. I recently got Majora's Mask for N64 as well as some 3DS games, so I'll be playing those soon.
I just finished Persona 4 Golden on PSVita. I'm sad now. It was such a good game. I couldn't put it down. Hopefully I can find another game that is just as good or better soon. Maybe Persona Q would be a good idea. EDIT: I realized shortly after beating P4G that I did not get the true ending. I went back through and completed the game with the epilogue and the true ending a few minutes ago.
Play Trails in the Sky FC & SC and Trails of Cold Steel. The only downside is you'll never be able to enjoy inferior JRPGs again.
uncharted 4 was actually not bad, i finished it a while ago and it was pretty good but the epilogue was kinda cliche and/or predictable
