but what about the optional episodic content? did u complete those as well? no idea if all are out yet btw
Yup. Did all seven optional episodes. The whole game, options included, only cost $37 and had the length of a classic Final Fantasy (over 40 hours total for me).
Finished ODST on normal difficulty in just under 4 hours. Going to see if i can poke a friend to play through co-op on legendary.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 <-- Buy this. South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! <-- Don't buy this. Too short (11 two-three part levels), too expensive, most of the download (~900 MB) is just really dark clips from the show, and the game is balanced for co-op only on the higher levels.
Had some time off work due to being sick, so I dug out the NES and finally finished Ninja Gaiden III for the first time ever yesterday! Probably one of the hardest games I've ever managed to complete. I'd compare the experience to that of taking a giant, rock hard, constipated shit. Hurts like hell as you're passing it through, but once it's done you're just happy to have it over with.
I might be a wimp but hard NES games scare me. The anger and repetition kind of get in my way, but that's just me. Well done nevertheless!
Yeah, don't think I'll be playing anything that challenging for awhile. It was just one of those games that always bugged me for not having finished back in the day. It did provide a nice feeling of accomplishment after all was said and done. Was worth playing again just to notice all the "borrowed" likenesses from film and television.
same here only i went through solo heroic. loved the new twist on the old halo feel. and the 50s detective show musical themes when playing as the rookie...haha just finished getting all the achievements today except for the last one (legendary campaign) which i am saving to do co-op with a few friends. also recently ginished gran turismo psp. was quite surprised (as im sure many others were) to find that once i had finished the driving lessons parts, there was nothing more to it really. was fun while it lasted anyway...
Both GoW games can be completed on the hardest setting in one sitting if you have a good partner OH: I bought the first one but just rented the second
I need to re-try playing GOW 1, tbh I didn't like it, it put me off the whole GOW 'experience'. Playing GOW 2 has kinda re-kindled my interest and hopefully re-newed faith in trying to play GOW 1, sometime in the future.
What's so different between the two games in your view? The only notable difference for me was that they fixed the run/cover a bit, the rest felt like it was the same game (campaign, i don't like its multi)
theres not that many so i could probably five you all of them off the top of my head. new guns/equipment: gorgon pistol: burst fire pistol mortar launcher: self explanitory. rains down sky fire scorcher flame thrower: again, self explaintory mulcher chaingun: hand held portable machine gun boom shield: hand held deployable shield to protect from attacks. can also be mounted in ground to provide cover hammerburst: burst fire machine gun. quite similar to locist machine gun from gow1. smoke grenades: disperse smoke and knock opponents down but do no damage ink grenades: release cloud of poisonous ink that causes damage new moves/abilities: you can crawl around while downed to get you closer to a team-mate. ai characters can revive you if downed. downed locust can crawl around too. locust can revive each other if downed. when 2 characters with lancers collide face to face, button mashing chainsaw duel ensures to determine a victor. downed characters can be held up and carried around as a 'meatshield' to protect user from damage. new enemies: kantus: leader locust with magical abilities. can revive dead locust. very agile. carries gogron pistol and ink grenades. flame boomer: similar to boomer from gow1 only carries flame thrower grinder: similar to boomer from gow 1 only carries mulcher gun mauler: similar to boomer from gow 1 only carries boom shield and mace butcher: similar to boomer from gow 1 only carries huge knife ticker: fast moving small critters with bombs attached. explode given any chance. new characters: benjamin carmine: brother of anthony carmine. also green as hell tai kaliso:maori spiritual warrior. tough as a brumak. dizzy wallin: conscripted stranded. driver of assault derrickik "Betty" think thats pretty much it....asides from the plot, locations, etc, the campaign is very similar in theme and gameplay new game mode: horde: team up with 4 other players to fight ever strengthening waves of locust
Dunno m8, I really need to fire up GOW 1 to see how it feels. (sad thing is I remember importing GOW from the states so that I could play it early) ...I'm one of those people that if a games good I'm hooked from the start, but if there's a 'problem', I'll hit eject. ...Fact is I hit eject on the first game, yet the second game I loved For instance I'm currently playing (amongst other games) a game called 'Where the Wild Things Are', its great and I'm hooked, its no big title, it just works!
