The only real complaints about Zelda II for me is the weapon variety (or the lack of it), since unlike every other Zelda all you have is your sword for the entire game, and the spell system, which was a good idea but most of your spells are useful only in very specific situations.
Fantasia for the Genesis. Seems to be the least liked out of all the Mickey games, but it's my favorite.
Not my favorite game but I enjoyed Duke Nukem Forever, nothing like stale 90's gameplay with cheesy one liners.
i've not played much of Duke Nukem Forever but i liked what i did play of it, by far not perfect but no way as bad as what people made out.
I rather liked FFX-2, although it's pretty unanimously hated. The story wasn't the greatest, but the gameplay was fantastic.
Sonic Drift (1 and 2), Sonic R, and Duke Nuke'm Forever. These games tend to get bad reputation, but I like them. The early Sonic racing games were fun and I also tend prefer them over Mario Kart, especially for single-player. Duke Nuke'm Forever I don't see why people hate it so much. It's a game that delivers the fun of Contra, the Mechanics of modern FPS games, the puzzle elements of Portal, tons of easter eggs, and the classic Duke personality and atmosphere. The game-play isn't constricted to just shooting and also gives driving stages and puzzles. It has somewhat innovative weapons like shrink rays that are especially fun to use on others in multi-player. I will admit the graphics could have been a bit better, but does that really matter too much? There are also heafty load times from when you die, but I find it gives you a moment to think about what went wrong and prepare yourself for the next level. I really think that if you haven't played the game that you should try it before disowning it.
Batman and Robin PS 1 by Acclaim: Pretty much forgotten but this game had a free roam Gotham City about 12 years before Arkham City had one. Also it had a Batcave you can explore. You try to uncover clues to the next robbery by Mr Freeze, drive to the location using the batmobile and try to stop it. You can even level up Batman's abilities by pulling the car over and fighting thugs. This is my favorite Batman Game. Blasto for PS1: Using an unlimited lives gameshark cheat, this game is pretty fun and a solid shooting game with platforming. Unfortunately without infinite lives its just too brutal to recommend. Spiderman 3 for 360: Free roam spiderman game with some fun missions. Features some good boss fights against Sandman and Goblin's son. An early next gen game that I really enjoyed. All of these games have been considered bad or worse, but they all are pretty interesting with some solid effort behind them.
Targeted low and high strikes, and enemies requiring you to use said targeted strikes to kill them (think of the inronknuckles in Zelda 2), boots for traversing water ( although in Z2 they let your walk on water, OOT they make u sink), the shield is actually useful and a MAJOR component of gameplay unlike zelda 1 or aLttP, the Dark Link battle, literally EVERY town name from Zelda 2 was used as a character name in OOT. Z2 and OOT are the only zelda's link can crouch in, as well, There are tons of things that OOT borrowed from zelda 2, i can go on forever, lol.
I thought Zelda II was a pretty good game, but the difficulty and NES-era cryptic nonsense ensured I wouldn't play for more than ~1 hour at a time. I personally consider it better than, say, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (folks often compare the two games), since a) Zelda II had a battery backup (versus SQ's long-ass passwords), b) SQ's cryptic bullshit seemed to be worse than Zelda II's, and 3) the gameplay felt more solid in Zelda II.
I can't say the general public hated it but TRON 2.0 had disappointing sales. I install it and play once a year.
So I hate FFVII, I hate FFVIII, I find FFIX boring, I hate FFX, and I'm neutral on FFXI and FFXII... ... but for whatever reason I enjoyed FFXIII and FFXIII-2, and I'm very much anticipating FFXIII-3 (even have the collector's edition pre-ordered).
This is a great game. They made a console version for the original Xbox also. Did you know that console version came out the same day as Halo 2? Who thought that was a good idea??
MegaRace on the 3DO. Not a common enough game that many hate it but anyone I know who has played it seems to hate it. I loved it when I was 5 years old and I had fun beating it 20 years later.
