Bioshock 2. I've completed the first and Infinite (and Infinite's DLC), but for some reason I stopped playing the 2nd about half way through and never got back to it. I really should give it another go. The funny thing is awell it's not actually even my game, I borrowed if off a friend about 4 years ago and he's never asked for it back.

ha ha mirrors' edge in my opinion is a great game and a great innovation, but can not exceed certain levels, and I have not yet recovered.

Recently it was Parasite Eve. It's been months since I put it down after getting stuck on the final boss. I probably just didn't level up enough. The breaking point for me was when I lost my revival buff right before being killed at the end of Eve's second form.

Aaaaand it looks like I'll have to add DOOM (the 2016 one) to my list. A few days after uninstalling literally. every. other. game. on my PC just to make room for their MASSIVE update, it corrupted the save. No cheats either to warp back (I don't even care about achievements and whatnot) to where I was, because PC games apparently don't need that shit these days. Really can't be arsed to slouch through all those maps again, even in god mode. Too bad, because it was actually quite fun while it lasted.

FIX YOUR SHIT BETHSOFT! But don't use up dozens of GB to do so (it's possible, trust me - others manage), kthxbyefsckyou.

Also, Mirror's Edge. Getting out of those storm drains simply isn't possible if Faith refuses to jump off a pipe to a very close ledge and just chooses to drop to her death instead. Every single time out of the 20-30 I tried.

In other news - playing Escape Goat 2 rn. Can be hard as nails at times (balancing of this game ain't exactly perfect) but at least if you fail it's never the game's fault. Recommended.

That's odd, Mirrors Edge was one of the few games I did play to the end. I thoroughly enjoyed the crap out of that game.

There's way too many games I haven't finished though, I've decided to stop buying so many games and just complete the ones I have, right to the end. Games like Chrono Trigger, FF6, are beautifully crafted games that I've never finished before. It's actually working quite well, just have to keep myself from getting game ADD =P

Not long ago I would have said the Dark Souls series but I finished the first one this summer and completed the second a couple of months ago. Demon Souls is next.

Shadow of the Colossus. I never went past the 7th or 8th colossus. I enjoy the game but I find the controls on the PS2 not so great and the game does not look good on my TV. I have the HD version on the PS3 so I might give it another shot one day.

You guys are still doing it wrong. Supposed to be games that you constantly come back to & restart in attempts to finish it, but always give up, not just any game that you didn't complete, we all have hundreds of those.

My recent one would be Bioshock one. I never could get into this game when it was released. Constant praise has made me attempt to beat it a few times since then, but I still lose steam before getting very far. Just not the game for me? (which is weird, considering that the fantasy setting that is revealed through all the early in-game cinematics is totally my thing)

Super Meat Boy. I technically beat the game, just not 100%. I just couldn't finish The Kid's stage.

Edit: Well oops didn't remember that. Although Super Meat Boy still works for this scenario because I have tried going back to that level countless times.

I've started Final Fantasy III five times on four different devices, including dreamcast, samsung galaxy s2, galaxy s2 skyrocket and the original xbox. But it's been cursed for me. The emu savestate got corrupted twice on the dc both times after a big chunk of progress.
Then I got the 3D version for my Galaxy S2 and was closing in on the final dungeon when my phone got stolen.
So I got a better phone and reached the same point as on the other phone but then I lost the phone on a bus.
Then I started on the nes version again on the original xbox and came pretty far before the softmod of the box got corrupted and I finally gave up on it.

Killer 7, played until Cloudman then dropped, bought the GC version that I was looking for years, and barely played it.

Battlefield 3, dropped off, then a year or two later reinstall it, download a bunch of updates, play it for a few hours, drop it.

Pokemon X/Y and Monster Hunter, I played it ocasionally when I was a regular at college.

Dead Rising 2 Off The Record, I did only play coop with a friend, but never finished it, from time to time we go back to it.

GTA San Andreas, first GTA 3D game that I had played a lot, was impressed by the concept, but didn't care to complete the missions, then played on PS2 and it was pretty much the same thing, and in the end, I rather liked the previous ones due to the better framerate (SA barely runs at 30 fps).

Doom 3, back at my yaharr times (I was a kid with no money) , install, drop it, install months later, drop it, install it again, drop it, until one day my friend sells me his copy and RoE expansion pack, then I decided to play it to the end.

Scarface, almost the same thing with Doom 3 (but no yahar), only finished on the Xbox.

Halo CE, spent more time playing the MP, but dropped twice.

FEAR, only finished in my second/third run .

Burnout Revenge, and ironically it was my first PS2 game.

I remember that when I went back to Bioshock, I still had my two and half year old save files, then finally finished it.

    GTA San Andreas

I've started many times since I was young, and while I love this game and GTA I always got tired at about 75%. I always ended up losing my save files one way or another and got tired of playing the same part over and over. I still played, just downloaded a 100% completed save file.

Fallout 4 at this point. Occasionally I will pick it up and do some side quests or general looting or whatever but right now I cant bring myself to make a decision on any of the branching points (e.g. deciding which faction to side with in the commonwealth).

Metroid Prime's another I never finished. I got really close to the end but I just sort of lost interest because the boss fights were just getting too frustrating (I hate boss fights in first-person shooters - you seem to spend the whole time running backwards hoping you don't get stuck against a wall). The game also crashed on me more than once (at one point directly after a particularly tedious and frustrating boss) which meant I didn't fully trust it to not do the same thing again at some point. Metroid Prime definitely feels like unfinished business to me though, I may give it another crack using Dolphin at some point - with the added benefit of save states this time.

Battletoads on NES, I wouldn't mind finishing it but I don't have the patience anymore, Snake pit is furthest I got.
I finally finished Chrono Trigger which I've started five different times, a little overrated, also Tales of Symphonia
