According to http://www.gamebagel.com/home , my favourite and most accurate pricing site :

    eBay, GS

    Chrono Trigger 93.98, 89.99
Super Mario All Stars 18.49, 22.49
    Kirby Super Star 33.37, 35.99

    Conker's Bad Fur Day 83.85, 71.99
Legend of Zelda MM 37.63, 44.99
    Perfect Dark 8.10, 11.69

Ok I honestly took random games. What you have to bear in mind is that some buyers have to pay additional fees for the shipping. Also I'm aware that there are some other games way cheaper on eBay but as a general rules, it's about the same and honestly I trust more Customer Service of a big brand company to that of an unknown seller on eBay. I'm not saying GS is perfect cause I buy most my games from other game stores.

Gamestop will send you some random copy of the game that supposedly "works". On ebay you'll actually see the specific copy of the game you are going to buy. This is worth a lot to any buyer and definitely any collector. I hope this GameStop program goes away and they sell their old games off and be done with it.

All I'm saying is that how come people automatically expect GS will be selling, damage cartridges, especially that there is no real review of their services yet. I know they have done shady business but I hope they still there and bring that nonsense eBay prices down.

They don't want to bring the prices down. They want to cash in on them. Everything we have heard sounds like GameStop doesn't really know what it is doing with this. They don't seem to understand condition beyond "working" and "non-working". That's usually been what I've observed with them. They don't care if a game is missing it's box, manual, etc. All that matters is if it plays. That may be fine for their usual customers buying the latest shitty titles. But for people that buy retro games, they aren't going to pay the same price for a game missing half it's label and one that's pristine. Some old games are littered with marker writing, stickers, even writing that has been carved into the plastic. Those drastically affect the price.

I think that they will sell only the game cartridges for older systems( That may not be the case for the PS1 and Dreamcast).
Just an example, even if they have a complete game of Super Mario bros. 3, they will only sell the cartridge.
I just hope they don't throw out the box and the manual. At least sell them separately.

That's my main problem, is that I think they're gonna indiscriminately sell disc/cart only games alongside complete ones for the same price (it's what they do with current/last gen systems now).

It's pretty obvious with this and the ThinkGeek acquisition that Gamestop is trying to diversify for the inevitable digital-only future (which is probably when I jump off the console train entirely).

Not to mention PSone and Dreamcast games that are disc only. What the fuck is the point of that? Disc only seems to minimal to me, and you can't exactly put them on a shelf either.

Well, I'll be damed. I made a mistake. I totally neglected the fact of fake copies in my first assessment of ''Gamestop selling retro is awesome''.

It wasn't difficult to predict this. Actually, Pat and Ian predicted did.
