I just took some pictures in Tourist Trophy for PS2. It's a bike racing game by Polyphony Digital that uses the same engine as Gran Turismo 4. It's pretty good looking for a PS2 game, and really fun. It has a feature that allows you to save photos from the race to a USB flash drive. Here are a few.

Here I was thinking I'd be safe from horror on Forza Horizon 2. How I was wrong.

I got it today, just taking 500 years to install.

Why is that? Are you downloading a digital copy? There is a pretty big update for it though at 700+ MB I think.

Those bike shots look pretty cool for a PS2 title. NOt bad at all.

I was playing Thief and found you can pick up zombie heads after you explode them.

Also I had a Goat Simulator screenshot on my Steam page, so here's that.

I had a physical copy, and it was at 1% for a good half hour.

Anyhow, after lunch and an episode of the Simpsons I played Forza H2 for a good 5-6 hours.

Of course I know about Driveclub, but that game can't be a completely joyless slog like GT5...can it? Dunno, still waiting for the PS+ version, although my interest in the game is now about zero. It's probably nowhere near as good as FH2 anyway - speaking of which I need to post some of my own FH2 shots at some point.

I've tried it, it's not bad at all actually, I'm rubbish at GT/Forza but good at Ridge Racer/PGR/ Burnout, Drive Club is a good mix for me at least in terms of gameplay vs fun. But what a debacle the only gameplay, I don't understand that in this day and age, of cloud, elastic computing that they can't scale their server app in minutes/hours rather than weeks. They've been developing this game for ages!!!

I'm playing the Swapper on PS4 at the moment, a mix of platform/puzzle with a flavour of Super Metroid, pretty eerie atmosphere, good game :)

This is why people hated Necromancers in Diablo II:

The game wasn't supposed to be free. They promised a "PlayStation Plus Edition", just a nicer way to call a demo. It's supposed to have all modes and multiplayer, but not all cars and tracks.

Anyway, Evolution Studios should have done a Beta test to avoid these kind of issues, specially when everybody with a Plus subscripton would download it. By now we can guarantee the problem wasn't just servers, something on the multiplayer code wasn't tested correctly. The online mess and the one year delay will really hurt them. Sadly, i imagine Sony will probably shut them down.

They were out of luck with MotorStorm Apocalypse and the whole delay / cancellation because of the tsunami in Japan. Driveclub does looks amazing, but the whole online fiasco will never make the game a big seller.

I actually disagree with you Yakumo. Both are racing games, but that's the only thing they have in commom. Forza Horizon, being open world, while Driveclub is a circuit racer, something like PGR.

PS: Thanks la-li-lu-le-lo for making me remember i haven't played Tourist Trophy for ages. Gotta find some time to get back to it.

They promised the PS+ version would be a much bigger part of the game than it actually ended up being and that it could be upgraded for a "small fee"; in reality the discount for upgrading the PS+ version isn't good at all (anyone who's actually considering it: shop for used copies, you can probably find it for cheaper than the upgrade). To top this off, they announced that unlike any other game you buy with a PS+ discount, you couldn't play the upgraded PS+ Driveclub if your PS+ subscription expired (which they had to quickly backpedal on). So even before release, Evolution did a great job of killing my interest in Driveclub, but I just have to wonder what they spent a year working on? If this game had been a launch title, it would've probably gone over a lot better...or at the very least, they could've released it in the summer when there are very few games coming out.

They should have been more transparent on the problems though. It's really sad to see this unravelling publicly, despite the review I think it's a good game, I'll still buy it.

It doesn't look quite that good in-game, but it does look pretty good. The photos are higher-resolution than the game itself. I was playing it in 480i, though it also has support for 480p and 1080i. I think at 1080i it's actually just an upscaled 480p image. Also, the blurring in the background looks a little smoother in the photos than in the game, I guess because it has more time to render it. Still, it's a pretty good game overall, and it's pretty cool that the PS2 is able to render those images at all - even if not in realtime. Keep in mind, these images were generated by the PS2 - I didn't edit them at all.

All true. The "small fee" was absurd.

In the end, the whole concept was bad. They should've just released a demo for Plus users and add some free digital stuff like "special cars". They promised too much and the online fiasco make them look even worse. It's a shame really, because the game engine is great and lighting is fantastic. I'm really hoping the studio survives.

Still, this is worse than Gran Turismo 5 promises, delays and lacking release product. GT5 at least sold millions, mostly because of the name. Gran Turismo 6 sales on the other hand... Anyway, even Shuhei Yoshida had to say something

Message from Shuhei Yoshida - President of World Wide Studios
    Hi everyone,
I wanted to provide you with the latest update on DRIVECLUB. Unfortunately, the road to launch has been a little rocky, and we are truly sorry that so many of you have not been able to enjoy everything that we had hoped DRIVECLUB would deliver.
We have been listening to your feedback and realize that patience understandably is running out. Evo is working around the clock to close the gap, and we have deployed additional engineering resources to help resolve the remaining issues as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the time frames required to roll out the fully connected experience will be longer than anticipated and we do not have an exact time frame for when they will be resolved. We will continue to update you on progress and you can find the latest info on the DRIVECLUB Facebook page.
We are also very conscious that we have disappointed so many of you who were looking forward to playing the promised PS Plus Edition. Our first priority is to provide you with the best possible experience while playing DRIVECLUB. With the high volume of new players and additional server load the PS Plus Edition is anticipated to bring, we are currently not confident that we can guarantee the best online experience. Until we can ensure that everyone can enjoy the full social connected online experience, we will be postponing the release of the PS Plus Edition until further notice.
On behalf of WWS we are enormously grateful for your patience and we thank you for the continued support and encouragement. Again, we sincerely apologize for the delay. We are committed to giving you the best racing experience on PS4 – it’s taking a little longer than we hoped.
    Thanks,
    Shu

Can't say this generation isn't a joke, it really is. It seems they dream big before really finding out if all is possible.
