In this modern time of gaming many games can look quite life like. So real in fact that it's hard not to think they are real (maybe) So post your gaming screen shots to impress and show off your skills. (the screen shot doesn't need to look like real life, anything that looks good is great. From a fantasy game world to an action shot from a sports game. All is good) I'll start with a few shots taken from Forza Horizon 2 (Download the full 1080p versions from my Forza gallery - Yakumo1975) Party Time! Camping, Anyone? Haha, no offense, but reading your post based off of the What's New? category, I instantly assumed car game photo stills. Can we all just agree that racing games have realism down before the more complex range of emotions that the human being can deliver? Not to take away from your threads message. Hell, I remember GT5 prologue shots that looked real at first glance! p.s. I have nothing to contribute. I thought I did, but failure runs rampant.
This WAS the most accurate representation of a fully modded NHL 06 from May 2007. Modded to have correct uniforms, real world ice and board textures and rosters. This is the most "realistic" screenshot I have at the moment. As a comparison, this is what that rink and team looks like in the stock game:
More lovely shots from Forza Horizon 2 Reflective road sign. Good detail Oh No, The Zombies are coming! (Actually really far away people models!) Down at the carnival. Self advertising Girly jump Mobile car unit
Holy Shit indeed. To be far, without using an extrem zoom and move the camera as far away from it's starting point that shot wouldn't be possible. A lot of the buildings in that area of the map have no textures either. I love seeing stuff like this.
How right you are. If you were lucky they maybe had two frames of animation. To be fair to Playground games, those character models are not ment to be viewed so close up. If you actually drive up to them they fill out looking much much better. There's no point putting detail in a place you can't see. But then again they should have thought about how people would use the camera in the game The amount of Zoom they've put on it is nuts.
This thread makes me wish more games had photo modes where you could adjust the camera and remove HUD elements. There are too few non-racing games that have photo modes.
If GT5 is one of the better Sony racing games of the past 5 years, then the others must be the gaming equivalent of that disease the guitarist from Slayer got.
Have you heard about Driveclub? The game that was supposed to be a free (PS+) launch title was released as a buggy mess that had connectivity issues (while pushing online connectivity extensively).
Oh, drive club it a total cock up in terms of how it was released, final quality and actual game as well. Releasing it the same time as Forza Horizon 2 was also stupid as it was obvious people would compare the two.
