You can tell that you're not very old Shit like this has been going on in the games world since the early 80's or even before. To me, this gen is no different than the last and the one before that and the one before that. In fact it's always the same

 

I remember Tourist Trophy had really, really horrible aliasing - even compared to GT3. I remember playing it back in the day for a while before I sold it because I noticed that I don't like bike racing, but the headache-inducing graphics certainly contributed to my decision.

Just to be fair though, I think apart from the aliasing issue it really is a fantastic bike simulation with pretty much no alternatives that are equal in quality and variety (to date).

 

Yeah, every generation has big launch games that flop massively. I'm guessing by sometime next year we'll see really great games for the eighth gen, once all the devs put all their resources into it instead of splitting them between 8 and 7.

 

Agreed, so far most of the releases are pretty underwhelming. A year on I haven't seen any wow factor for generation 8 yet. Love my PS4 but it loves dust right now.

 

Heh I'm 22, but honestly I think it's the messiest of the lot.

 

Saturn was just as bad in Japan as was PS2 and Dreamcast. The Famicom had sweet FA when that was originally released.

Yes they are I'll post some shots later from the Vita, I've hardly seen the Wii U in action, but I would say probably somewhere in between the Xbox and the Xbox 360 in terms of graphics. I love my Vita

Most launch title are pretty bad, remember the Mega CD? Sol Feace was decent-ish but Earnest Evans and especially Heavy Nova were pretty bad.

It looks like he has used the high colour setting on the camera but apart from that there are no graphic enhancing effects on that picture. Forza Horizon 2 really does look that good when you play.

Gotta love those network bugs from Chivalry that end up with your character cloning itself, looking like a 4 armed monster that suddenly explodes.

 

Just too bad Ridge Racer on the Vita is such a godawful game.
