    Kewl! :)

Will you be adding the part numbers for these cables to the first post so we can order the correct ones? :)

I'm undecided right now if I'm going to open source the project. I might sell kits, I might just do installs. I may do all three of those options. A lot will depend on demand etc.

Hey if you sell kits and do installs that's extra money towards your other projects/hobbies. Might as well!

Well I hope you will at least sell kits. I don't want to ship my consoles overseas, especially since I can solder this myself :)

So I did mess around the wii last night. For some reason I had a format not supported on the tv. I started to debug and accidentally ripped the fcc connector + pads off on the main hdmi board. The fcc connector I'm using has some very small ground pads that secure it in place. I'm not sure why I got the format not supported. My guess is that I just has a loose pin on the hdmi board. I have removed that xilinx chip/flash/vreg multple times now. I keep updating my design and so I just keep reusing the old parts.

So I drew up some new boards with a 20pin connector, with large securing ground pads. This new design will also bring the 54Mhz clock back into the ribbon cable and have multiple grounds running through the cable. Bad thing is that I have to get new QSB's and main boards. This time I'm getting .8mm thick boards. If you have never order .8mm boards from osh park, it can take awhile. Just depends when they get there .8mm panel filled up. So I probably wont have any news for a few weeks.

Got my new QSB boards in. I designed two boards. One with the standard BGA pattern that I know works. But I figured I'd test a new design out that offers an eaiser install.

It works! You need a very fine tip to install this. You first tin the the via's on the board. This insures you have good connections on the mainboard. Then just place the QSB over and fill in the holes with solder. Still need a fine tip for this and good flux. To make sure the solder flows down the hole.

Ignore the wire. I accidentally pulled the pad off the ground via when trying this out. I plan to add anchors next to the resistors and that will supply ground.

Wow! Are you looking to open source this? I would love to take a look at the BOM and design.

Do you have any screenshots of the video output of the wii using it?

Undecided. But I'm more inclined to. The BOM is pretty much identical to my Shuriken design, which is open source. It can be found here: http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/gamecube-journey-wasp-fusion-and-hdmi-progress-thread.63129/

Only some crappy camera phone pics, on one of the shittiest tv's. I don't have a capture device, but Its probably something I should invest in.

Sorry to bump up this thread, but I've some questions. Firstly, does this mod keep the normal Wii multi out working? And secondly, does it offer the GCVideo features to Virtual Console games? For the longest time I've been using a Lenkeng LKV-6000mini HDMI adapter. It works great, however some Virtual Console games have been giving me issues.

Castlevania doesn't support the Component AV interlace mode and won't show up via HDMI adapter, 1080 Snowboarding has some slight combing, and F-zero is just a mess of combing artifacts. I'm a using a PAL Wii, using a SCART cable gets me around some of these issues. But F-zero still looks horrendous regardless of how I'm outputting the video. I'm trying to find a way to force these games to 480p or 576p. The GCVideo linedouble feature seems like the way to go, but can you confirm it works with Virtual Console titles? Thanks.

Can't confirm because i don't have one but I'd wait for Citrus3000psi wii gcvideo. Looks way more promising.
