Wow. Hope its nothing like the RATT driving sequences in Metal Arms.OH: That game had the crappiest and most unresponsive controls...ever. In retrospect, I think I should have spent an extra $10 to get the Xbox version rather than the PS2 version. If I wasn't so broke at the time, I think I would have enjoyed that game more with the superior Xbox pad.
Usually on multi-platform games, I go for the Xbox version since I already have all exclusives in my PS2 library already, other than that one game, and its still a huge collection! I generally prefer the Xbox pad to both the GCN and PS2 pad. The GCN pad isn't too bad. I think out of the GCN and PS2 pad, I prefer the GCN pad more. My GCN library is all exclusives AND Nintendo made as well (for the most part, there may be one or two 3rd party games like Timesplitters 2), but its still rather small compared to the other collections I have. I still need to get Pikmin 1 and 2, along several other of the launch GCN titles that I haven't acquired yet. Once I get a job, I think my first paycheck will go towards getting some old games I havent gotten yet for the GCN, like Pikmin, Odama, and many more. Good thing, too, since the Pharmacy in town needs someone with at least a High school diploma!
I wasnt into it much at first, I kept dying. But now that its on Casual and Im more acustomed to it (active reload, etc) Im having a lot of fun. I figured this cover based combat would be boring but its actually quite fun.
At first I thought the game looked a bit generic, but now that its out it looks great! I'd buy it for the blood alone, from what I've seen from screenshots, it looks to put gore back in shooters (the gratious kind like Duke Nukem and Doom and such had):icon_bigg XBOX 360 is looking nicer and nicer to me so far. Too bad I don't have a good TV yet, Wii will have to do. Next year when the 360's have the new CPU's seems to be the best time to buy.
Unless theres a good price cut with it, I doubt is better to wait. MS already said they wont lower the price anytime soon, they'll just add more stuff to the bundle.
For all of you complaining about a good TV, use a computer monitor. They WORK - get a VGA cable, and thats IT. Why not use equipment you already HAVE instead of getting old PC technology in a new TV shell? Progressive scan and high resolutions have been around the PC scene since forever, so make full use of your resources. Think like Gunpei Yokoi New CPU or not, the version I have runs just fine, no heat issues, no bugs etc so far (touch wood)
Crap, I really never thought of that. Here I sit looking at a 19" DVI Widescreen. That was smart. Regardless I need a new TV anyhow since I can barely even watch cable on mine, plus my other 5968686 systems. But maybe If I ever did end up with a 360 it should sit with the computer. I know they won't cut the price, but I'd like to have a quieter, stabler console, if there starting to get like that currently then they should be even better with 90nm CPU's. Plus I'm planning on blowing 250$ on a Wii soon! :110:
This sucks, My second 360 is now Disc Read Erroring...wtf? I played about an hour and then noticed the drive spin down while I was in a house map. Everything seemed ok, I was playing but the music stopped. So about 2 min later it picks back up. Ok..... Go into the door...disc starts clicking, music stops. I keep playing for about 5 seconds, then DISC UNREADABLE! What the hell? Then I click ok to be taken back to the dashboard (EXCELLENT IDEA, NIMRODS) and the disc just keeps clicking and clicking and clicking and....etc for about 1 minute. Finally the dashboard loads. So whats the deal? The drive seems to "lose power" at times in the game.. Looking at the bottom of the disc I can see odd warp marks? All my 360 games look like this infact, none of my PS2 games etc or anything look like this. Is it the heat? Ugh, this sucks!!
See, this is why i'd like to wait on this system! That sucks man, but with a warranty do they just up and send you a new one?
Im so disgusted, this happened last time when I played Dead Rising. Then I lost interest in playing the game and only just recently took the time to beat it. Im not doing it for Gears as I really like the game. They need to cross ship me a new one, because this is retarded. Is it that hard to ask for a console which actually WORKS for at least 4 months?! I've never had this problem with any other console EVER. Sure, maybe 3 years down the line they started messing up with DRE's, but not on day one. Hell no, I bought it when Dead Rising was released (well shortly before). I very rarely played it until Dead Rising. It started screwing up so I had MS replace it, and now I have a newer model. After that it was another long period of inactivity until Gears..god damnit I hate this.
That is such crap, after spending that much on a system it should work! Hopefully for the sake of customers everywhere PS3 doesn't do this. Especially when its 600 FREAKING DOLLARS! I really hope launch Wii's don't do this, did any other Nintendo launch systems have probs? GameCube did fine didn't it?
Yes, everyone has been relatively fine at least for me except the 360. Its probably the most unreliable console I've ever owned and I cant even beleive their hasnt been a lawsuit or some form of action taken against Mircosoft for putting out a faulty product and then charging people 130$ for "repair" when it breaks (and it will). I personally dont know anyone who is still on their first 360. Do you?
Wii should be perfect, after the successful run of the gamecube hardware (no defects) and the streamlined production of this new unit
That fucking sucks! now it breaks your games too? I thought they had those dumb issues fixed by now! and I was planing to get one with GoW this weekend, now what? I have to wait 6 frigging months for the 90nm?OH: I have a launch system (DOL-001) and it still working as new, thats something I respect from nintendo, the good build quality. About the Wii, those hinges for the controller ports look flimsy, like something thats going to be broke in months...
I bought 2 360s at launch (one for myself and one for my brother). Both units work perfectly, and neither of us has ever had a single problem. I leave mine in a relatively packed entertainment center, which can't be good for heat, but it has never even hiccoughed. My nephew picked up a launch console as well and he hasn't had a problem with his. (Which shocks me because he's an absolutely feral nine-year old.) Maybe we just got lucky, but at least you know of some people who are still on their first 360s.
i work for their parents played online multiplayer for a few hours last night, its pretty rad.. id describe it as halo 2 + splinter cell's cover system.. hella sweet! first thing i've had run in 1080i too, its gorgeous.
