Nintendo's stuff is usally bullet proof. Only issue I ever had with the Game Cube was once it froze and make and incredible loud BUZZ. I reset it and it never happened again seemed pretty comon according to a few folks I talked too. Best cheap HD Monitor grab a 20" LCD pc monitor they are like $200-$300 CDN
Hell, I still have my 360, and it works just fine. I even left it on for several hours multiple times for Dead Rising.
wow, that really sucks dot50cal ! ..and hate to rub salt in your wound, but my launch 360 is fine, as re 4 of my friends.... ...if your 360 was recently fixed though, afaik your replacement gets the same 90 day warranty...?
Yep, my launch 360 still works fine too, and it sits on the carpet in my room. But the other day I played PGR3 for to the first time in months, and it seeem like it took forever to load the races and it wasn't making much noise either, like the drive was going real slow, hope its not starting to fail. But GearsofWar plays perfect, and I would have to agree that it is simply awe inspiring to look at, and a hell of a lot of fun too, makes that PS3 launch lineup look even worse to me know.
Haha, Had that happen in RE4 when I switched weapons when I was in a "grabbed" mode by a ganado. When the game came back from the pause screen I was already in his clutches, holding a shotgun pose but I had no shotgun. After he let me down the game went BBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! XD
I have my original Xbox 360, which I purchased after E3. Everything was fine until their "Fall Update". Then Perfect Dark Zero started to freeze... alot. No big deal though, I played through it. Eventually it stopped having that problem. Then I bought Gears of War on the 8th. First 3 times I started a single player game, it froze during the intro sequence. I was pretty pissed off. I waited alittle bit and tried again, haven't had the problem since. It's very annoying when it fucks up. But when it's working right, the 360 is awesome. Ofcourse I have a 1 or 2 year replacement plan just incase.
Wow, that game is really short. Incredibly polished but short. Thats about the only fault I can find in it because it was such a blast to play.
Reminds me a bit of Halo 2: Most of the fun comes from the Co-Op on the higher levels of difficulty, and online play.
Just starting to get into Gears and have to say I'm really liking it. I don't think it is the end al be all but it is a good solid title. The only thing I've noticed is at times when the character are talking the sound drops almost too low for me to hear but I'm not sure if that's just part of the game. My biggest gripe is the way they packaged the collector's edition. The flimsy cardboard the discs come on just suck. As for my 360... Launch day unit and the only problems is that it has locked up once or twice with Oblivion but I think it is the game in that case and not the system.
I agree the campaign is rather short, however it depends on the difficulty you play it on. If you played on Wimp/Easy difficulty, ya, that's gonna make it seem extra short. But if you played on Hardcore and didn't breeze through it, it shouldn't seem all that short. I actually didn't finish it on single player, I joined up with a friend who needed help on Act 2 (while I was on Act 3 or something) and we played through the whole game together making it quite fun. And it took a pretty long time. Multiplayer looks like it could be fun for quite a long time. That's the important thing.
I finally got around to playing Gears last night... wow. I was really skeptical about the game, but it's absolutely great. I'm not nearly far enough into campaign to say if it's "short," but, if I keep moving at the pace I am on "Hardcore" difficulty, I don't think it'll be over any time soon. The multiplayer is also a lot of fun and VERY intense. It also seems to be a very balanced game online. One guy can't just wipe the floor with three enemies; you have to rely on your squad. It's not Halo-style where one man can blow up 7 enemies in 30 seconds and walk away laughing. You have to try and keep cover, break up the enemy's advance and take them one by one. Needless to say, it's a really cool experience.
Yes, it's a team based game. It's not easy to take out 3 or 4 people by yourself, but I've done it before. Mainly you succeed by picking them off one by one either with sniping or catching them wandering alone where it's one on one. One thing that is cool but I don't really like happening to me is the chainsaw. That can be really, really, really fucking annoying. Because of whatever crap, if someone comes around a corner and trys to saw you, even if you blast them with the shotgun which should lower their chainsaw, they still saw you because of lag or whatever. But it's still a great game.
Playing through on Insane alone right now. Jesus christ...3-5 shots and your DED! XD You only have time to take 2 bursts and then its back behind cover again. Dont even think of poping up over cover, you'll die that way. You gotta go around the cover..man this is tough!
I just saw one of my buddies play it today, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed...the graphics when you zoom-in on an enemy are phenomenal. I didn't have much time to watch, as I had a 10 mile bike trip planned ahead, but wow, I want that game.
