I've always had this thing for germany, Beer, weird Euro fetishes, Guy crazy girls, This thing called Currywurst...anything that ends with wurst. But...the german language takes it everything just sounds bad ass in German even songs about Transvestites, plus it's an easy language to make puns with and the insults (see Link) are the best. http://www.insults.net/html/swear/german.html I do know SOME german mostly through a children's tape and Rammsiten (where I learned about german wordplay) But How hard is it to learn German? Doesn't seem too hard but with double meanings and my tendancy to say things that are taken wrong it seems like me + german = asking for it.
if you can speak dutch, german is easier (doens't really work the other way around though) dutch is one of the most difficult languages to learn
if you can speak german, you may probably understand about 70% or more of what dutch people talking about. sure you won't be able to talk the same amount. here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOeAkmj-p2Q i can understand almost every sentence in this movie without big issue, even I can't speak just one word of dutch.
Dude, you don't need Germany for your fetish, pretty sure wursts and transvestites are everywhere  Just joking mate, just try it what do you have to loose? buy or download a program called: Rosetta Stone Geman 1, 2 & 3 and pratice. It's the easiest way I found to learn a language.
Dutch eh? (UGH Now I'm speaking Canadian) The only real downside to learning German is those Hitler movies won't be funny anymore. On the Upside I don't have to look up what perverse things Rammstien are talking about... I should note I had an awful lot of trouble learning spanish all I know in spanish is enough to say I don't like something or I don't speak it.
Beer = great Weird Euro Fetishes??? Guy crazy girls????? oh shit, I guess we both have been tricked! I always thought the guy crazy girls were in the US!:crying: Yeah, regardless if you're insulting people, cars or games, there's always a hard sounding expression you can throw at it. It stimulates physically LOL DU SHEISS ARSH!!!
Doesn't seem too hard but with double meanings and my tendancy to say things that are taken wrong it seems like me + german = asking for it.
I've been told that it is in fact pretty hard, but not as hard as Japanese or Arabian for an English speaking person. There are many similar looking words due to the romanic connection of English and German. I'd say it's not harder than French, but not easier either. For instance, while "we" spoke very broken French in class, our exchange students from France spoke equally awful German. Conversations in English went fine, however.
To Clarify german girls as I understand are the MOST boy crazy. Although I think it was obvious my run down of Germany beyond that was me generalizing. I think I've picked up enough German to see how babel fish butchers it. That pharse seems to have translated to- YOU SHIT TO ASS!!! HAHAHA Love it Arschgeige is my favorite
nah,ich finde deutsch ist ne gute sprache die man sich gut als Fremdsprache aneigenen sollte!!Wir lernen ja schließlich auch englisch etc..:dance: I am pretty sure that you guys dont know what i am talking about, right?
ich finde ebe schwiitzerdütsch na um einiges geiler. es isch ebe so schön undefiniert und durch das ebe viel flexibler im umgang, laht enormi deformatione zu und wird totz allem immer na problemlos verstande. it's like määtschik
 But proper pronunciation of Swiss German is hard. You can't deny that! Better learn some Hochdeutsch, GoH!
