After some research on the net about the ultra rare Mega modem titles: "Go net" and "San San" and being a little angry that i couldnt find pictures that were larger than a thumbnail, I found and owner having both titles who was willing to share some photos...his name is Mihono from Japan he was very kind and shared pics of the games with me. Due to the fact that I do not want to step on any collector toes here and/or have people flaming me (or at least reducing the flames lol)...but at the same time having the "for the sake of preservation mentality" in me I have posted the image below which is of a moderate quality and cruedly watermarked. Again I hope that I do not offend anyone but I believe we should at least have to some extent a better idea of the game and its packaging. I would like to thank Mihono from Japan for his great share (and who is not a member of the Assembler forum...yet) and do hope the forum members enjoy the pic. so here it is: http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/5730/gonetsansan.jpg best regards
Neat to see, but why is are the instruction books censored? Would posting better quality pictures really make anyone upset? I don't get it....
Well, if you post a scan it's easy to make a fake copy. Posting a full cover even in a photo gives enough image to make a fake. I could do it no problem as long as i had a good souce image. This is why he has censored some parts of the image I guess Yakumo
san san some nice pics here http://cgi.ebay.com/SEGA-MEGA-DRIVE...0719?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item25609b26df
Both are Go games you'd play via the modem. As above San San isn't rare now. A few years back I contacted www.sansan.co.jp to enquire about the title. At that point it was very rare and hadn't been seen for years (many people thought it was a myth). I'd been told by several JP contacts that the site had no copies left, so was only really asking for info (as at that point ANY info was sketchy at best). To my utter joy the site owner said he could sell me a copy for 5,000 yen! Happy days, he'd unearthed a lost NOS stash. Shortly after he sold the other copies on various JP auction sites, hence it being not so rare now. (Although a complete copy should also include the branded shipping box which he kindly included for me. Other copies have also sold with some extra documentation, but I 'believe' this was purely some extra papers the site had lying around, so don't personally class these as needed for a complete copy. Certainly they would NOT fit in the original shipping box.) Go Net, very rare indeed. Imo the rarest released MD game (so excluding NFS / prize items), more so than legit Tetris too, and just shades one of the banking carts and Wonder Midi, both of which are very rare too (although Wonder Midi and the Wonder Midi Collection CD as a set would push it very close indeed imo). (And I'm not including certain games that allegedly exist in JP format as although I have been told by a reliable source that they exist, until I see piccies I'm dubious to say the least)
San San is still a nice collectible though, isn't it? I think too I'd include 1 game before GO-NET in rarity, but though I think maybe I might be wrong with it (must research more ^_^), but still think it is rarer at this time.
I thought maybe special sale version of James Pond II Royal Wedding Kinen (with paper band attatched and different cassette)? But maybe I make mistake in this? I never saw this before at sale or in a collection, but seen GO-NET a few times now. But maybe it is one of those circumstances when person A see's game 1 many times for sale but not game 2, and person B see's game 2 many times for sale and not game 1. ^_^
How many copies of Go-Net are known to exist? Before this thread I've already had a photo of it on my HDD but it could be possible that it's been taken by the same collector (Mihono): And totally by incident he also showed us his copies of Wonder Library and Nikkan Sports Pro Yakyuu Van
? I know of 3 confirmed separate copies, 2 + Mihono (who I don't believe is either of the other people I know with one). WL and PYV aren't rare though, but nice to own. (Although the numbers sheet with PYV is often missing)
San San and go net are not really games or playable now are they. their for the md modem and you need to be on line to play yes.... i dunno. their really nice to have I'm sure but i am not a completest so i wont be looking for them.
Hey guys, I'm looking for some informations about these modem games. I can see in some of the older posts from 2005 from this forum that Sansan used to be really rare, but is not so rare anymore. I actually bought a copy on ebay this week. What happened? Did Go Net has been officially released? if not, what exactly happened? Also, is there any pictures of the Mega Anser packaging? (including the console, printer etc...) I've been searching for some informations about these games, especially on Japanese websites, and found something about a blue, but also red version of Mega Anser. I do not know if this actually serious, or just a silly translation of the internet translator I used. I've also seen a post from Wheela talking about a modem game called "Osaka", but didn't found any informations about this one. What is this game? Cheers!
Well they are playable providing of course you know someone else with a copy and you both happen to have the MD modem and you both have a keen interest in Go. San San is not so rare as people realised that the company that made it still had stock and ordered it directly from them.
