GO NET My friend who lives in Gifu has Go-net, He told me a crazy story about it. Towards the end of the Megadrive,s life in Japan obviously Mega drive games where not collectible especially Mega modem games as it was a bit of a flop in Japan to say the least. He managed to get the game free from some sort of thrift second hand store as he had bought some second hand golf clubs. The game is complete, and was in a junk basket all those years ago. Remarkable True story.
Awesome. Did he knew about about this game when he got it? So, Go Net has been officially in stores? I always tought it was some kind of unreleased game like Tetris.
I think the game wheelaa said about is Osaka Ginkou no Home Banking Service My Line (another banking software). But like Meigin no Home Banking Service Nice-kun Mini, it has got another version too (Osaka Ginkou no Home Banking Service My Line Osaka Ginkou Offline Senyou). I think that GO-NET was a mail order game mostly, and was not sold like a normal shop game.
There was one of those here in Brazil as well. It was TeleBradesco Residência. http://julianapantera.blogspot.com/2011/06/telebradesco-residencia.html I also found a cleaner picture of the circuit board inside the cart. http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/4423/01129om.jpg The picture was taken from this forum (in Portuguese): http://www.neoseganet.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11355
That's one crazy arse wall socket you guys use in Brazil. 4 prongs? In the UK we have 3 (live, neutral and earth) and in Japan and US only 2 which is bloody stupid since there's no earth on many items but what is the reason behind 4? I'm intrigued. yakumo
That is because it is a telephone plug (http://www.laptoptravel.com/Product.aspx?ID=2071&catID=5163). Brazil use a European like 3 pin plug, with an offset centre earthing pin, but two pin european devices will plug straight in. Although they can't make up their mind what the power is in Brazil as some places are 127V and other places are 220V... (http://cdma-gateway.blogspot.com/2011/05/power-plug-type-n-brazil-power-plug.html)
Actually, most wall outlets in the US have 3 prongs, one of which is a ground. Most products only use 2 prongs, though. The devices that use 3 prongs tend to be large and power-intensive.
Same with VN: they got two different kinds of plug types, but all 220V Kinda weird to see US wall sockets where one can fit a Euro cable plug without worries. I'd be going crazy with my imports! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mains_electricity_by_country
As la-li-lu-le-lo noted, most bigger devices and modern devices have: though not everything (360 doesn't, a lot of CRT TVs don't, my stereo doesn't... but all computer plugs are like that. Minus most laptops.) That being said, large appliances (most commonly clothes washer/dryer, large hotel-style AC/Heating units, etc) have a completely different plug and do in fact work off of 220, AFAIK. As for that 4-prong being a telephone connection: that's very interesting. Seems overly robust? Does anyone know the story behind the plug (sorry for the possible derail)? Does it just send voice or can it send power as well?
My laptop has a plug like that but that's originally from Canada. I had to buy an adaptor to use it in Japan.
There this picture from the advertisment: I know adol has the game + the tenkeypad pictured on his collection page on digitpress, but never saw any other part of the kit.
That's a sexy combo right here... I'd totally use that if the service was still working. Unfortunatly, if I would buy this, I wouldn't have any money left in my bank acount to use it anyway.
Nice collectibles here. As the San San rom got dumped already, anyone with a jailbroken Wii could play it as Virtual Console channel So people without this nice setup and the rare game can play it too. Does the go-net rom has been dumped?
It does use a very proprietary connector which as the telecoms company at the time was state owned probably was probably chosen so that it would be difficult to copy and you are forced to use the telecoms companies products or licensed products. Although they have been sold off and I believe most new connections are standard RJ-11 connectors. It is likely it only had a Ring and Line wires and likely an earth too.
I never saw the printer, even if i think it had existed. I finally managed to get Go-Net,thanks to my brother!
