There is such a thing as going too far. Personally I think EA are slowly ruining the entire industry! I feel ashamed that I bought Burnout 3 last summer now...

I've also never liked E.A. I find EVERY GAME on their lable shite ! I just can't stand their style and don't even get me started about their bloody sports games. :smt067 I hope Sega fuck over EA big some time. In fact I hope anyone will.

    Well, EA *did* publish Soukyugurentai...
I don't play sports games at all, so I'm not really bothered by this news I must say (but I'm not a fan of EA's bland games nowadays, either)

Well, you can still go for SEGA sports games, if they continue.

They only won't have the ESPN name anymore.

As for EA, i hate them mostly because they usually make average games, that sell million. And a company that makes a fantastic games, struggles to continue making games.

    ME :smt067 EA

SEGA didn't loose the ESPN brand, did it? The next ESPN games just cannot have the official teams and players names. Ok, it's a big deal, but the ESPN name is still there...

Yes. They are the fucking parasites of the industry, and this trend of big corps eating up every little developer in sight - and now this fucking brand/league exclusivity - is killing the industry.

This shit should be illegal. In another few years all that will be left are the big monoliths of the industry, and people won't know anything outside their prdducts because there will be nothing else - all competition will have been killed off. No one will know anything outside the prducts and franchises of the monoliths of the industry. And for that EA can go to fucking hell.

Konami just swap around a few letters for the players they haven't/can't license in Pro Evo(e.g. Carlos became Larcos).
You can edit the names/clubs/kits etc as well so people just fix them and chuck the save on the net.

    Seconded.

NFL? Christ, would rather take a cheese grater to my knob than play that tripe.

Being a fanboy isn't the point here wombat. It's the fact that they've throttled ther ability of every other NFL franchise out there - namely ESPN - to sell.

Oh yeah, just to show how much I "Love" what EA did, here is a picture expressing it:

Sure, the game was Madden 2003, and is worth less then $0.50 cents at a store, but eh. Interesting how the transparent bottom cover of it came off, never seen that before. :smt030

I wonder if they'll lose the ESPN license now. I doubt it, but if EA buys that (and they could really benefit from it), then they'd be pretty much unstoppable. Funny they let Sega get it.

For me, yes EA makes (yes Yakumo, they actually make a good deal of games) plenty of good games. But it still seems like their games are missing something, something resembling a soul. Now, what I mean by this is when you open up a game, pop it in, and shit your pants and love every minute of it.

I've never gotten that feeling from an EA game. Yes, they are enjoyable, but they seem not to care about the consumer--does EA pull $20 tricks etc.? Do they make online play good? Do they make online play in a game, unless it suits (and profits) them perfectly? No, no they don't.

I'm not crying over Sega's series by any means. I wasn't a fan at all; probably liked Madden more than ESPN. However, that being said, I respected EA and their Madden series for shit, because they didn't (and don't) care about anything but the money. Which is the way all industries work. Sad, yes, but true. And the only way you can change it is to vote with your dollars.

To those who are EA bashing:

    Do you use PCs?

If so, what OS do you use?

And how about word processing? What software do you use for that?

Microsoft can be accused of capitalism equally as much as EA. I was talking to a programmer from the US today. He was telling me how American business schools basically program it into your brain.

So, if you hate companies that are just money grabbing capitalists who don't care about customer satisfaction and their products actually being a QUALITY product that much that you'd not buy their products regardless or smash up those you own... when are you all switching to Linux?

Personally, I buy a game because I enjoy it. I don't go - eww, EA, no thanks!! Or - shame it wasn't made by Sega, I might buy it.

Look at yourselves, this is pathetic. Does it REALLY matter who makes the game, as long as it is good?
