Been using Chrome since I read this thread. Working Awesome. It seems to have some strange loading problems at times. Like, I will right click a link and open in a new tab, and go back to something else as it loads. Then it never loads and comes up with a white page saying some sort of error. I refresh the page and it usually works instantly. Or sometimes it wont load pages all the way, like these forums. When I hit reply to a thread sometimes the smilies and Post Icons wont load up all the way. Its a bit annoying, but its worth the hassle. I think its a great simple browser with just the features I need. Cant wait till' some sort of "Official" build.
"do you really want uninstall Chrome ? have I maybe said something wrong ?" lol it looks like Google does have some humour up their sleeve
The rendering engine is faster than any other browser I've used, and I use the main three (FF, Opera, IE) extensively at work. What's interesting about most of the criticisms is that they seem to be treating this as a final build where everything should be perfect, whereas it's the very first public beta. By all rights it should be crashing all the time - but it isn't, at least not for me. Is it going to replace FF on my home PC any time soon? No. I need NoScript, Adblock, Remove It Permanently, gesture support, FlashGot... but as soon as these or equivalents are available, I'll think about it. My only attachment to Firefox is that it's better than the alternatives, and if that changes then so will my browser choice. On a more subjective note, I like the layout and presentation. It's a very efficient use of screen real estate.
I won't use it due to the terms of service. You might as well give them rights to anything you do using it, and the ability to sell it too. I don't give up my privacy so easily.
PhreQuencYViii: Yes, it is. I was wondering if it was just my imagination, but many others have reported the same. It's not so hot on flash, though. Kev's right though, the EULA is some bullshit. Of course, we're all aware that anything sent through MSN Messenger is subject to a similar conditions, right?
They are changing the EULA. I haven't tried it yet (Linux port doesn't run yet) but I can't see it replacing Firefox for me. I need Adblock/Noscript.
Maybe once it gets the "view page info" feature from Firefox, clear history on exit option, reopen closed windows, built in TIFF and Postscript, and something like the DownloadHelper plugin I'll use it. One big thing going for it is that it passes the Acid2 test, but accurate rendering also means many crappy websites are messed up.
Someone hasn't found the "Incognito" mode yet. Its sole purpose is to ensure your porn history doesn't show up there and ruin your marriage.
