Then Greece is in better shape than Portugal, Italy, Spain and Ireland?

So the "celtic tiger" is very much like the asian tigers from before 1998...

I can see Italy pulling herself together since it has a big industry with a lot of aggregated value in their products, but the rest?

Spain AFAIK had its strong point in its own real state market, which is in shambles. Beyond that I cant think of one industry where the country has a clear advantage.

And Portugal, well, to be honest I see them as the next Greece...

Spain has no industry, we had our own industry but it was for self-using. Dunno, our culture has been based in eating, sleeping, drinking, shouting and singing for the last 2000 years, it isn't like we care too much about developement and stuff. When our crops dry out then we'll talk about a problem.

Dude I wouldnt go so far, I think the problem is that you're surrounded by high-yield countries, know what I mean?

What about increasing trade with Latin American countries? making a commonwealth like the brits.

Say, Assembler, I'd hate to be an asshole, but if you're a currency trader, you must've had a pretty lousy strategy. You might just as well have gained from the drop in the euro. In fact, what on earth were you expecting if you were positioned like this? For the euro to rise even more?

I'm completely serious, it's been always like this since all our history. Anybody that tried to introduce health or attitude changes was quickly changed out of the country.

For example, you can remember the case of Grimaldi and Squilacce, who were kicked out of the country for:

    - Forbidding throwing fecal water through windows.
    - Forbidding street gambling and prostitution.
    - Installing running water, stone pavement, etc.
    - Creating primary schools.

Because it was an insult to spanish tradition and culture trying to import those strange ideas from the europeans and etc, etc. This is a case from the XIX century which has nearly no relevance, but it shows very well the overall spanish way of thinking. We are a bit more civilised nowdays, but our culture and society isn't as civilisated and polite as any other country in northern or middle Europe. We have good lifes, eat as we want, have fun and many, many, many celebrations, and we live in a very good area, but we are like that.
