Greetings, N64 and Gamecube comtroller collections!

I wonder what they do with these systems? Most likely they throw them out, or give them to staff. I known quite a few hotels throw out their TVs and stuff.

 

Hmm... Up for some midnight dumpster diving for TV's and PlayStations? xD

 

I know a friend of mine did that, found a bunch of old processors and rare keyboards. Works sometimes

 

They either do what you described, or some people go on to sell them (as we have seen many in the wild), but I have noticed that some hotels will keep some of these rental consoles way past their aging point.

Around 3 months ago I saw one of the N64 Lodgenet rental units at some hotel near Redondo Beach, and a year ago I was in a small hotel near Disney Land, and they had the SNES Unit! 2010 and I could still rent some Mario Kart. I remember almost wanting to steal that bad boy after my offer to buy was refused.

The variety of color is quite nice, shame there doesn't appear to be much variety much color though. I'm a bit of a whore for special editions.

Though I do own a DK64 "banana yellow" controller that I and my brother got way back in the day from Nintendo Power.

 

So... I am assuming this is a TRU exclusive... whats the story behind it?

 

It seriously just looks like a sticker.. Maybe this was included in a Toys 'R' Us exclusive bundle or pre-order bonus..

I have no idea how I missed this thread the first time around. I have been toying with the GC controller idea myself for a while now and have almost all the standard ones.
