gscartsw: automatic 8:1 SCART-RGB switch

Just yesterday I messaged Bob from RetroRGB about this. I'd also like to see the gscartsw VGA port pinout if at all possible. Just trying to figure out if any of the pins supply voltage (for RGB auto switching of CRT's).

 

1 - Red
2 - Green
3 - Blue
5,6,7,8,10 - Ground
9 - +5V
13 - Hsync/Csync
14 - Vsync

Pin 13 mode is controlled through CV/HV switch toggle.

SuperG..... any idea if a custom cable like Magus90 got made would work with a VGA output on a Atomiswave that outputs at 31Khz?

 

I'm not sure about Atomiswave - you'll have to try.

ok will do.... I purchased the special cable to get the VGA to SCART to test .... I also have a Shyntek and a Kenzei so hopefully one way or another I can get the signal back to the TV. I will publish the results.

 

Yeah it's absurd. It just irritates me that someone just trying to make a quick buck off of your expense. I get that it may or may not be open source soon, but still. That's just way too much money for one lol

 

I agree, it's actually PS4 Pro price + taxes. It wasn't supposed to be that expensive

Just received my order for the 8:1 scart switch, superb job, I'm impressed !!!
Quick question, I have a Nec supergrafx and a NEC duo Rx both consoles are jap and have the RGB mod. Both consoles work only when connected to the switch on the first ( 1)or last (8) slot. When using another slot I have a black screen? Other consoles like Snes, ps1,saturn are fine on all slots. Any idea? Thanks all.

 

If it works only in these slots it's very likely that sync amplitude is very low and it doesn't properly trigger detection.

 

Will you be announcing the gscartsw_lite before the next pre-order batch?

 

Probably, I've already ordered some units which will come hopefully this year. Don't forget I still keep some gscartsw extras here, will put them on sale in 1-2 weeks.

 

Ok thanks, will keep my eye out. I was just wondering if it's an improved design or something different (4 port?). I don't mind waiting a bit longer, but if it has fewer ports then I'd just stick with the gscartsw.

No, it's gonna be less, it will be as cost-effective as I could do, without sacrificing quality of course. This is totally different design.
