Nothing will happen to your SCART connectors under normal usage. I agree that they are bulky and could be designed better but they will survive.

As I've explained in this topic I will not be posting any estimates anymore. Currently I'm debugging the current stock which will go to some people in the waiting list.
    Shouldn't take years though ;)

Really wish new members who just come to assembler to repeatedly ask when the switches will be available would either just a) be quiet and subscribe to the thread or b) get banned.

    Fair enough thanks!

I can't get almost any of the site features to work, in fact I had to sacrifice my last account because the new site wouldn't actually submit a password reset link to my email. I've been trying to get back on the site for about a week now and had to start over, no big deal but I appreciate the warm welcome :)

Thanks Superg! When you say you're using the Sega Genesis power plug, do you mean the model 1 or the newer version? Just wanting to have everything else prepared before the switch comes in. Thanks!

    This look fantastic! :)

Just curious though, why use a centre negative DC jack? (Apologies if this has already been answered)
I understand the Mega Drive 1 PSU is centre negative, but most of the those PSU's are 20+ years old as this point.
Almost all modern switch mode PSU's are centre positive. Might there be an easy way to change the DC jacks polarity?

Yes, I mean Sega Genesis / Mega Drive model 1.
To which modern PSU's you're referring to? Usually when I see 2.1 power jack - polarity is negative, when I see EIAJ jack - positive, that may be just my experience though. If you buy some multi power supply they usually have a polarity switch and a set of different jacks.
So center is negative because that's how it is in NES, Genesis, Jaguar and a lot of other equipment of that time. Usually if you're interested in this switch you already have needed power supply at home. Anyway there are plenty of 2.1 DC gender/polarity changers on eBay.

One suggestion on the power supply. You labeled it dc 7 - 12v but you may want to add that symbol they always put to show what polarity the tip is. The circle with the - and + on each side (not sure what it's called) so there is no confusion. That is if it's not too late.

Initially I wanted to but those labels support only text. I'm sure there is a way to do that, just need to look into that. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I was looking at the switch mode PSU's here:-
    http://www.stontronics.co.uk/Products/Switch-Mode-Power-Supplies/Plugtop-Switchmode-Type
All of the PSU's are centre positive (Except for the adapter with multiplugs)

Maybe this is a regional difference between the US and Europe? I cant find anywhere selling centre negative switch mode PSU's here in the UK.

I understand there are lots of polarity changers, I just thought it would be nice to power it directly with a modern switch mode PSU ;)

You maybe could just write center neg (or something similar) under it if it's only allowing text.

Probably that company simply orders from China what they want, that doesn't necessarily represent what DC polarity is more common.
    I'm European btw ;)
It's quite possible that when switch will be finally distributed there will be basic set of everything - SCART lead and compatible PSU, it's up to my distributors.

Either open the AC Adapter, desolder the wires, then resolder, flipping their original position, or cut the cord and flip the wires, solder.

    It's that easy.

@superg, sorry if this was already asked, but can you use the 21-pin SCART out and the HD15 out at the same time, or is it either/or?
