So once the initial waiting list orders are fulfilled will there be a more wider release via the distributors listed?

Like a lot of peeps on this thread I joined this forum after seeing this thread. I'm looking forward to getting a chance to purchase one of these slick looking Scart boxes.

So do you think that people on the waiting list for the waiting list for the waiting list will see the possibility of making a purchase in 2015? Sometime 2016 if not? I am by no means trying to sound pushy or at all unappreciative of a completely awesome project such as this; I just want to be able to give my wife a heads up.

Thanks for your diligence on this. It is going to be awesome.

There is a waiting list, but not one thats open anymore. No chance to get on a list to get on a list either. After the waiting list is taken care of the switches will be distributed by retrorgb (excellent site if you've never visited it). No set timeline for release to distributor but I'd guess 2016.

A question suddenly occurred to me, when using a given system on my XRGB Mini (connected via the RGB mini DIN terminal and 20 pin SCART adapter with sync stripper) on its own I get very few sync issues. When run through a SCART switcher beforehand (I have many types and brands I have tried) there are often bizarre results. Specifically at the moment Silpheed loses sync when the screen flashes red upon taking player damage. Similar things happen with other games and switchers, I have never achieved a perfect all round setup.

Would this SCART switcher when used in conjunction with a power supply give me such problems? Thanks!

Increase XRGB sync level in settings, that usually helps, XRGB is not perfect.
Also make sure your LM1881 inside your SCART->MiniDIN adapter is getting enough power, you can power it externally if needed.
Try to use different cables, especially the one that goes from the SCART switch to XRGB. I've seen a lot of cheaply-made cables which really affect the signal. If you say that including switch in your chain is making everything worse your cables can be the issue. Usually the switch is not a problem but you increase your cable length 2-3 times and with poor cable quality that's what makes the difference.

The switch I work on is meant to be properly designed. So far the compatibility has been great. Haven't seen any problem on Sega CD though, which is basically Sega Mega Drive with an exception of using sync stripper for model 2.

Thankyou! I'm using a Madcatz type switcher at the mo, it has a moulded plug. I've sorted my sync settings too. I'll have a look into my cables next then, thankyou again.

Hi, i've read a lot of articles on RetroRGB regarding sync and i wonder if this scart switch with sync stripper would solve the issue i have with my Sega Master System: the image is flickering like on the screenshot here: http://retrorgb.com/sync.html
Does the included sync stripper has the ability to solve this kind of problem, or do i have to change my RGB cable or fix my console ?
    Thanks

It sounds like you're not getting any sync at all. What is your setup? Do you currently have a switch box, and what are you running your SCART cable into?

Well, taking a switch price into account I'd advice you to try different solutions first. Even getting new SMS and new cable would still be cheaper. The main purpose of the switch is to switch the inputs, not to fix bad signal. Yes, it can improve your signal, but there is no guarantee.

Update: Still waiting for my JP21 PCB, should be here either today or on Monday, will keep you posted.

    Thank you for your answers.

My setup is really basic: i have a Sony KDL32D3000 flatscreen with native SCART inputs, one of them with RGB support. My Master System is plugged in directly with no switch, using the original cable. The same cable works fine on my Sega Megadrive (Genesis).
I have another issue on the same TV with my NES ans SNES: after some time playing, the screen goes black and comes back after 5 to 10 seconds. It then happens every few minutes and i can't continue playing. Maybe the signal is too low for my TV ?
I know the main purpose of the switch is to have multiple inputs but since there is an included sync stripper i wondered if it would fix any syncing issues i have...

It depends on demand. Definitely SCART version of the switch will be available first.

    Got JP21 proto on Monday:

What is left is to solder plastic components and test it.

Yes i've read that but i'm still not sure if this device will be enough to fix the issue i'm having. Anyway, i still need superg's switch for my setup, maybe it will fix my problem, maybe it won't and i won't know until i have it :)
