Yes, your switch. I'm not sure how to differentiate versions...I think it might have been from the second run? It's all black.

The thing is, I'm not getting video even if I go straight into my monitor, so IF this is possible, I don't think your switch is at fault. I'm just not entirely sure I understand how video signals work, and if I need to do anything special to pipe composite into your switchbox, I'd like to figure that out! I'm addicted to not having to think about switching inputs, your switch has changed my life.

This might be a really dumb question but I figured I should ask it before I finish my setup. I do not have these switches yet as I am still waiting on them to become available to order, but I am reworking my setup to account for them for quick installation whenever the time comes. I plan on buying 2 of them and daisy chaining them, will this require me to have 2 power adapters or will just one work when both are daisy chained?

I have one genesis 1 power brick but i'd have to find another power source (and an outlet) if I need another. Also, what scart cable would I need to daisy chain them? Would like a good quality one to reduce any chance of issues. I dunno if these will be available for months or not, but the less I have to undo my setup the better as it's quite the nightmare. Thanks!

It's the adapter. You're more likely to get one not working than one that does. The few people I know into this sort of thing have never had any luck with them.

Okay, so in theory this should work as intended, that's good to know. Thanks a bunch!

I am pretty sure it should. Sadly, I don't think there is a "quality" vendor for these either.

    Hi Superg,
Do you have any idea when you will have this available.
Im looking for i solution to connect my 20 consoles to my 2 TV.
And a few of your switches would probably solve my problem.
looking forward to hear from you. :)

There are no waiting lists anymore as per the first post. Just have to follow the thread for when they become available.

And you can...as soon as they become available. superg will let us all know when its ready. Follow the post because he updates with news frequently. Once he gets all the bugs worked out, and everything is up to his standard (which I'm glad its as high as it is) this magnificent piece of work will be made available to purchase from distributors. I know RetroRGB will be distributing them in the US. Don't remember who has the rest of the world, but its in a past post.

I apologize for no updates for quite some time. Here it is: I'm looking forward for January-February 2016 release. SCART version will definitely be available first. Everybody in the waiting list will have their switch reserved and will get it either from retailer or directly from me.
The holidays will come to an end and I'll be actively working on getting this done.

There is version string on every switch PCB. If that's before v3 it means that it's using SCART voltage pins for signal detection (pin8 or pin16). If it's newer it's using composite signal for detection. Most likely you have the one <= v2 which means this:
    1. First input is forwarded by default. This trick can be used to connect one composite-only console and have it forwarded if everything else is turned off [quick hack]
    2. If you have several composite only consoles, you'll need to come up with custom composite-only SCART cables. You don't have to connect any RGB pins (you don't have the source for those anyways :) ) - key thing here is just to supply some voltage (+5V) either to SCART pin8 or pin16 to trigger detection [proper approach]
    3. Keep in mind that you'll still have to switch your monitor/tv/whatever to composite mode so it's not entirely automatic approach

For sure first you have to be able to see anything on screen if connected directly.

Just to be clear I'm not asking to be put on any kind of list but just so's I know come February; is there any other way for a UK buyer to get hold of a Euro SCART switcher other than through Videogame Perfection?

I'll more than happily use them, I have dealt with them several times and they are a great team but it's good to know all my options.

    Thankyou, and merry Christmas!
