But you can confirm that when properly modded, systems will work with the switch, right? I ask because I intend to get one of your SCART switches for use with my RGB modded NES and SNES. They both work fine with a Hama switch.

    Usually it works.
NESRGB works here. Are you referring to SNES-Mini?
http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/snes-mini-rgb-measurements.53053 - this stuff is legit.

It's just I reserve my right not to look in those bizarre case where people don't know what they are doing with their soldering iron or they mindlessly copy somebody's else flawed designs.

Correct. SNES mini, modded by Wes at retrofixes.com. Same with the NES top loader.

If you're only hearing it on that one system, it is probably an issue with the cable itself rather than the switch, but be aware that the switch itself uses things that some manual switches do not. Earlier in the thread I had an issue with my PC Engine; I didn't completely narrow it down to a bad ground or a cold solder joint (yet), but I proved the issue was in my cable when I used a known-good cable and my issues disappeared.

Yes. Pretty much every single console I own is modded and they all work.

You should be fine then, he does good work.

Follow RetroRGB on Twitter or FB for updates on the Euro switches; superg is distributing those through him.

Looking forward to the JP21 switches!

Need to pay attention to this thread to get in on an order. I feel foolish for having to pass on an earlier release. :/

    Hello everyone:
I live in Spain and I'm waiting to receive the switch, but my doubt is the power supply.
The suggested power supply (Tomee Genesis 1 AC adapter) is 110v input only? or supports 220v too?
What kind of power unit is needed for the European users?
superg: can you tell me the exact specifications that the switch needs to function?
For now, I know that: standard 2.1 DC jack, 9V, 1.5 A, center is negative.
But what range of mA? I found adapters between 300mA to 2000mA
    Which is the correct?

As far as amps go you can always exceed but never go less than that required to power the unit. I can't speak for Superg, but if you don't go less than that required by the original MegaDrive PSU (1.2a) that would be a guide. I suggest this as Superg recommends this PSU.

Volts can't be messed with though, they need to be as specified. I think that Superg did specify amperage somewhere a few posts back.

Anyone else curious to see his cat? I still am!

I finally got some time to hook up my SCART switch to everything. Happy to say everything works great! Thanks so much for the awesome product Superg! The only downside is now I want to rearrange my whole setup lol.

I believe he said 200mA@12v. I asked if 350mA@9V would be enough and he said yes, but when I actually tried with an adapter with that rating, it only worked for a few seconds before shutting off. (This could be a problem with the PSU I tried however.)
Best thing appears to be to go with the Tomee adapter which I bought and reviewed on the advice of superg/retrorgb after the 350mA one didn't work out or I guess an OEM Genesis 1 adapter if you have one. Amperage will be more than enough, and the price is pretty fair, I think. I had misgivings with cheap switching PSUs made for old consoles like this but they proved to be misplaced.

Don't confuse everybody here, the specs I've posted are true.
From now on PSU will be bundled.

I'm almost done with JP21 batch, just have to check sound output.
