For the one or two other ps3 owners here, the GT5P demo is up on the japanese server. Get it while it's hot!!
[Turns on PS3][Opens Playstation Store][Clicks to Download it][Come back to say Thanks][Notices it's already 50% downloaded...]
Oooooh Suzuka.... ooh oooh ooh 15 other cars on the track... oooh ooh decent draw distance and decent amount of polys.... ooh ooh ooh support for every Logitech Force steering wheel on the market. oooh ooh ooh Rumble Support on / off. Oooh ooh ooh the cars seem to race each other. Awwww... no rumble pad for another 3 weeks... Awww... still no damage... aww just 5+1 car to play with... aww still crappy AI, it's better but the cars still follow the racing line so do end up smacking into you if you outbrake them into a corner... Still looking forward to the full prologue disc...
Oh yes, thank you thank you for the heads up. Going to grab it now. I knew making that Japanese PSN account was a good choice. =)
That's why i haven't got my PS3 Still, if someone wants to buy and send to me that GT HD Install Disc... :110:
To the lucky people that have downloaded it, once it loads, just leave it and you'll get some nice demos of the cars racing around 3 tracks and the cars being shown in a photoshoot like condition, one of the cars is in a field surrounded by old stone walls with butterflies flying around and the grass doesn't have the Motorstorm one view look to it, the other is in a olde looking european street corner. One of the tracks is the DAYTONA - SUPERSPEEDWAY... joy. Playing the game more the AI is a lot better then previous games, in the slower cars like the Daihatsu OFC-1 you do notice the cars trying to avoid smashing into you if you outbrake them into corners. Still not perfect but we'll see when the full demo is released. I spent a lot of last night playing the game and overslept... :noooo:
I can capture in HD so at least thatd be good, but of course it messed up hah. Now if only there wasnt HDCP on the PS3
Does the driver shift with the gearstick when in a manual? Last video I saw, they didn't, but it might have been a paddle shift on the wheel so I couldn't be sure.
The drivers hands stay firmly on the wheel when shifting, but then again this is only a downloadable demo and there is a lack of lots of things including look to the left and right to see where cars are so you don't hit them and start spinning off the track when passing the lead car.
Although not a major update, the GT-TV icon is now free (as long as you are signed in and connected to the internet) and you can download 3 videos of real driving, a trailer for Best MOTORing where you can see a Ferrari 599 and a Lambo being driven around Japan, a SUV challenge where SUVs are dragged raced and something to do with turning circles of various cars. There is also a hyperactive trailer of the 2007 Autobacs Super GT series and more hyperactivty in Top of the Drifting World - D1 Grand Prix where you see some fatish japanese bloke with glasses who wouldn't look out of place in some dodgy back street hentai shop wins some trophies... Even though it's only the prologue is out on the 13th of December, I'll be standing outside Messe Sanoh waiting for them to open. Pre-ordered? Hell yeah.
I was wondering about this as I tried to move the right analog stick to look around the interior ala PGR...so this feature will be implemented in the final game?
that's a piss-easy feature to include. I guess there would be slow-down if implemented though, proof that coding on the PS3 isn't easy business for high-end graphics.
Didn't have much time to mess with it, but I did race twice and watched the D1 video on GT-TV. Does any options open up to switch cars? Right now clicking race sticks me right in with the GT-R prototype and a rolling start.. Hopefully the drift mode can be unlocked like the first demo.... =)
You can click the icon next to the race icon to change cars, there are 3 other cars you can race, 2 locked and one under a blue sheet....
I'm putting it down to it's a free downloadable demo, rather then putting 2 and 2 together and getting 7.98...
well if 2 is the declared name of 3.99 then: 2*3.99 = 7.98. ...which means.. oh my GOD! WE WERE RIGHT!
