$500? I bought my '89 Honda Accord LX for $600. Blue Book was $1,300. I got a great deal on it.
I need to pick up a wheel. I don't drive stick too often, so the GT one would probably do it for me. There are some on ebay for 80 right now. Is that a good price for them? The only think I like about the other wheel that the GT one doesn't have is the pedal resistance thing. I'm assuming it changes depending on how fast your going?
in actual cars pedal resistance is set by your mechanic. It can be adjusted to any level of comfort you wish (Although you need someone to go under the hood). Likewise, although there's no "rev" force feedback, so to say, on any of the pedals for current wheels (and probably never will be), the G25 sports different springs inside each pedal, with gas being the "lightest" , clutch being the "average" and breaks being the "heaviest" to press. This is akin to what's found in performance cars - your parents car will most probably have soft pedals though so keep that in mind (that's so you can access more Horse power quicker, considering the lower horse power/per weight of ordinary cars)
Hmm alright, so the differences (for me) between the two aren't that much. I might as well get the GT one. Oh, here's a good question. In the gaming/star wars room, I don't really have a table that wheel can mount onto. Any pictures of your setup you could post? I don't really see what kind of table I could use to butt up against my recliner that would the right height and be able to be pushed back enough so that I could reach it.
for the GT wheel any desk will do, if you want luxury.. well..google for "sparco gran turismo" I had my wheel in the living room while my parents were away, securely fastened to a table, in front of the couch. it wasn't much of a sports' seat and my back hurt after prolonged use...but here in Greece you can only import proper seats and I have neither space nor money to spare at the moment
NASCAR is boring. reading this thread i thin it's funny that people are like "you have no idea how hard it is to do that, whats going on with drafting etc". no. I do. It's just boring to watch. I'm sure it's difficult and exhillerating to perform. But it's boring to watch. I didn't like the forza series as much as GT but people that knock Forza down are kinda riduclous with some of the statements made in this thread. They're both great racing sims.
I just hope PD don't forget skidmarks this time. Oh, and to add something from South America. Argentina's TC2000 or the Brazil's V8 Stock Cars or even the Brazilian Lobini H1 (small sports car)
That, and more realistic lighting from the headlights. Even Sega GT on XBOX1 had a pretty good headlight effect. Something has me worried from the GT5 video... on the nighttime or "dusk" course, the headlights are on and the track directly in front of the cars is pitch black. I have faith, though.
