The dollar like pattern in the 'V' suggests another US-centric locale. Was hoping for somewhere new. Rumours point to LA, haven't we seen enough of that in Driver etc??
I'm totally psyched. I want this game... now! GTA IV is still one of my favourite games of all time and the physics still succeed in thrilling the shit out of my nerdy self. I'd love to see some more landscape in the new GTA, something like San Andreas with enhanced IV-technology would be enough for me to make me flee all social life and play the game for the next year 24/7. Oh, and I just hope it's not LA or New York again. I wouldn't like anything totally different either (like Hong Kong or London, how some people suggested over the years) because it wouldn't suit the reputation and style of the series. It's a satire on the American society and trying to import this strength to a remote culture like that in Hong Kong would steal away all its humorous assets. Just let it be a different city... I can't see LA anymore. I've been cruising around in LA in Driver, True Crime and San Andreas, seriously, no more fucking LA! And New York, don't get me started... Las Vegas would be super-boring too. I found it to be the least attractive city in San Andreas. If we wanna go for American cities, I'd like to see Chicago, Detroit, Washington. Detroit in particular would be great for cars and sleazy neighborhoods. I hope it's set in a different timezone though. 70's would be super-cool.
The V could be a hint for Vice City. ^^ Think of it, the five is repeated unnecessarily. And rumours point to Vice City for a long time. I'd love it.
I don't want another Vice City, there have been two of them already! If it has to be Los Angeles then well, can't do anything about it, but I'd love to see a different landscape for a change.
'Bout f'k'g time if you ask me. Tho' I'm sure they've been onto this game for years shortly after the original.
i really hope they dont just re-hash the same shit again, i absolutely love the GTA games but its starting to look like they are Milking it a bit now, if 5 is set in either Vegas or Vice City (the V (5) could link to either of these 2) i will be disappointed as they dont seem to be having too many original ideas and are just updating previous stuff im hoping they go for a fresh approach and choose somewhere that will be new and exciting, i loved all the previous games but want something new
I don't think they're rehashing anything, Liberty City in IV was nothing like the one in III (which was nothing like the one in I). Besides, there aren't that many interesting American cities to choose from. It's probably gonna be Las Venturas or Los Santos.
Yeah Liberty City is good and im not complaining about the quality of the games, its just that its been the same 3 cities off and on really since the first top down version, would like to see one done in South America/Europe or at least incorporate travel into it more so it feels more like a world than an island
Interesting rumour: http://gtanext.de/news,id143,neues_..._1899_angebliches_beweisbild_aufgetaucht.html (german) Will GTA V play in 1899? I'd like it, but it sounds far fetched...
There are still plenty of good cities left. New Orleans, Chicago, and D.C. all come to mind. Money looked so much better back then and that isn't the only bill to use that Roman Numeral design. In any case I doubt it will go back that far in time. My guess is that D.C. is where it will take place.
