Not heard anything about it, but is a remake of the arcade classic ? If so... might take a look as it was a cool title. A house I frequently lived in is featured in the distance.
The game is just awesome! Pure arcade madness! Don't expect allot of options, just expect the arcade version with new graphics and your good to go.
YES! worth every penny! I finished that game yesterday and I appreciate the arcade difficulty -it's a satisfaction to finish 1st on Hard for the first time. Also, the car editor gives the classic European GT fan a chance to adorn his car! my favourite pick is the Renault 5 as far as performance and flexibility is concerned. The game's price will rise after the end of the initial offer, sometime in January. Expect new cars to be released, because there are trophies that require you to finish the game with a 2007 model for example - no expansion packs on the shop yet though.
Nice to hear it's great. My major concern was if they changed something on the control system. Again, Sumo digital did a great job. Like Jamtex, i'll wait for a blu-ray release (I'm still waiting for Wipeout too).
Really nice arcade feel about this game - great online fun, worth £9.99 anyday. I wouldn't have thought these games would come out on disc would they? If they do that would be nice with the artwork etc, but I can't see it happening.
looks almost like a straight conversion - not a bad thing if you have a good wheel, but i can't see me ever playing it on a pad. Used to love the arcade version, partly because it was left on free play for years at my local.
what sort of Wheel would u suggest for GTI CLUB+ then? I can't seem to recall the attributes of the original arcade version - did it have a shift-up/down for manual transmission? or a gear-box like SEGA RALLY 2? Did the wheel support 900 degrees or just the standard turning amount?
So far I have not really found any driving titles on the PS3 that really are as good as those on the 360. Now, I am no 'fanboy', but I actually prefer the PS3 hardware to the 360, however the controller adopted at release for the PS3 is very sensitive imho and although it's not a problem for most games, I struggle with driving titles. I can't get the level of flick control, minor touch steering I can achieve on the 360 controller. I would say I was pretty good with driving titles and just don't seem to get what I am looking for on the PS3. I'm also not a fan of the glossy, wet looking tarmac (which is actually sun gleaming on the surface) and water / mud finish on the PS3 titles I have played. So far the only playable title has been Formula 1. Recently obtained Initial D for the PS3 and hate playing it with the controller. Like Barc0de I am interest in people's opinions of a steering wheel for the PS3. If I could get something of the quality of the official MS 360 wheel, I would be a happy bunny!
If you think the official Microsoft Xbox 360 steering wheel is qaulity then you should seek professional help, on the Playstation 3 you have a choice of wheels from Logitech, the GT Force Pro is probably the best between cost and performance, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, F1 Championship Edition, Initial D, Burnout Paradise and Wangan Midnight are much much nicer to play.
Parris, the best wheel out there, compatible with PS2, PS3 and PC is the Logitech G25.It has two modes, standard and 900 degrees so you can adjust if you want a "real" or "arcade" steering wheel type - ie grand turismo is better with a real setup since it is a simulator. Furthermore, there's a clutch, gas and brake pedals, and they each feel differently under the foot! they have differing resistance. There's also a 6 gear manual (two modes, a serial and a standard gear box) - GT would benefit from a standard, GTI would benefit from an up/down shift, serial gear box. Finally, it's really high quality with real leather (heard it was dinosaur skin ) covering the parts etc. The only reasons i m not getting it though is of course price (200 euros) and the fact that such a set would need a proper arcade seat to complement it - you can't use it on the couch for example.. which leads to my issue with space in the house for such a driver's seat - and who'd wanna play against me of my guests?they d be jealous!
I actually like the MS Xbox 360 steering wheel, it's not as sturdy as a genuine wheel (clearly) and even the old Ridge Racer wheel felt more solid, but it was designed for arcade. We used to have a really crap wheel for the Sega Saturn and that's what I have compared against ever since lol. It's got more weight to it than I thought it would, but the pedals are awful (agreed). Thanks for the tip on wheel of choice! Looks good, but again 200 Euros (ouch!) However driving titles are what enjoy the most, so perhaps it's a worthwhile investment. We just got new leather sofas and ditched our coffee table. The seats are too deep and comfy to even feel like a racing seat and with nothing to hook this onto, I think I am going to have to get one of those arcade style seats lol - I'll look the biggest kid on the block, but who cares!
